Pedja Is Injured!!!!!

#93
Well after a good night's sleep I have a good feeling about Peja. If anybody won't be affected as much by a groin injury its Peja. Lets face it the guy doesn'e exactly make quick cuts or go strong to the rack. He's a shooter. He will be hurting on D but his scoring will help counteract that. For instance, If Mike pulled HIS groin he would be out a lot longer than Peja! Hopefully that is our last injury. If so we could have dodged a serious bullet!

^everyones main concern is will his timing and rhythm be off...personally I don't think THAT will be a problem I mean he's gonna be out a week...we basically had a week off this week and he started last nights game off strong...more rest before the POs might do him some good...its not like he's gonna be out THAT long...I would hope after a few days of rest and treatment that he would be able to shoot in practice and such just to make sure his rhythm stays put

As a sidenote I think we should take a page out of the Boston Red Sox (ugh!) book and get some REVERSE THE CURSE stuff printed up ya know...tshirts, hats, signs at the games things of that nature...

Well, Duncan's still out, Seattle has been ruined by injuries, there are some other teams feeling our pain right now.
DUNCAN is back for San Antonio and RASHARD LEWIS is back for Seattle. Nobody knows the pain of the Kings. We don't get our guys back. We just keep adding people to the injured list!

I know this isn't exactly on topic but did you guys see his steal last night when Caron Butler attempted to throw the ball over him and he jumped quickly and snatched it.

yeah I thought Tom said he should be a safety though...well anyway I think around superbowl time everyone established that Peja would be a kicker/punter...i see his accuracy being the same as his accuracy at the FT line

a 6"10 he could be a reciever, QB, punt/kick, but a 6"10 receiver thats aready crazy
Oh, I can only imagine his response after being cracked in the jaw by Ray Lewis when going over the middle.

Think he'd be better off sticking to kicking.

Already packed my bags! But I intend to leave for Dallas to go meet with Dirk and wish him a safe and injury free playoffs.
;)

I did not get to watch the game. My husband taped the wrong channel and for some reason ESPN was showing Sportscenter even though it said it was playing the game. So I did not see anything. I heard it on the radio driving home that night. I just couldn't believe it. I know what a bad one is likefrom taking care of my hubby when he got a THIRD DEGREE SPRAIN while moving a hay bail. The doctors said he just misseed needing surgery by a hair. It was so incredibly painful for him. He could not walk without help for the first 3 days. And he was taking Vicodin about twice a day for the first couple of days. Note:Scott, my hubby, hates taking medications, drugs, whatever. He hates the way they make him feel, but the pain was excruciating. He had the angriest looking horrible bruise that ran from his groin all the way down to his knee. It was terrible for him. He was tropper though, he only took 3 days off work. It happened on a Friday night, so he was back to work on Thurs. It still hurt like hell and it was HARD to walk, but he suffered through it. It was completely healed in 4 months.
Thank God that Peja only has a "minor strain" or we would be in trouble. Hopefully he is only out these last Post Season games and he can come back healthy, if not a little caucious for the PO's. Bottom line is we NEED him. I have watched Peja closely in these last 5-6 games and have seen the spark come back and catch fire. The smooth beautiful strokes, the great looks, the hard drives, the sneaky cuts, the loud grunts, the bottom of the net, the passion, the steals, the hustle, and finally that relaxed yet full of hope boyish grin. He was back and ready to surpas his best. You could feel it. It was a energy that spread out to all of us, at least I hope we as fans were all starting to feel it come over us like a familiar scent or or old friend checking in. It is an unbelievable blow to us, but I as a fan am (not to sound new agey, not that there is anything wrong with that....) sending good healing energy to Peja AND Bobby and Brad and kill em all vibe to the rest of the team. Go Kings!!!!!

Just for clarification, Peja felt some discomfort a couple of plays earlier but really felt the pain right after the jump shot.

In addition, it's possible Peja actually strained the muscle last Tuesday at the Charitabowl. Several people in attendance mentioned that they thought they saw him suddenly change how he was bowling, including showing some discomfort.

??????????

Unnecessary? As opposed to necessary?

This stuff happens. It's ALL unnecessary, IMHO, but that doesn't mean the players could have/should have done something differently.

Look, for example, at Tag's broken hand. He broke it walking through his new house in Sacramento in the dark and tripping over something.

Our society today seems to always want to assess blame in some way, shape or form. It always has to be someone or something's fault...

Well, that's simply not true. Sometimes, "stuff" happens. You can't put athletes in a plastic bubble and just bring them out for games. Well, I guess you could but with our luck, at least one of them would suffocate.

I love it when VF21 has something to say...

but I wasnt saying Peja couldve done something to prevent the injury...I was saying its just his luck. And I know the Kings already had plenty of "unecessary injuries"...they know how to deal with it.

Thought you all might like to hear about freak accidents with non-Kings players:

03-04 Drew Gooden missed a game with infected hair follicles on his right leg.

01-02 Dirk Nowitzki suffered a strained tendon in his left ankle putting on his shoe. The injury occurred when Nowitzki had put his left shoe on and stomped his foot before tying his shoe to make sure it was all the way on and strained the tendon with the stomp. He missed the Washington game that night due to the injury.

99-00 Muggsy Bogues missed the 2nd half of a game because he accidentally inhaled a muscle ointment during a halftime treatment and he then complained about dizziness. Bogues: "Never happened to me before and I hope it never happens again. That was one of those fluke things you don't even dream about."

I was just glad to hear that strange things do happen to other teams as well!

Due to Muggsy's small size, the tiny amount of ointment he inhaled was far more concentrated than in a person of average stature, therefore he became loopy.
