Hot take: Olympic boxing has never been entertaining, because of the rules and restrictions of Olympic boxing. People misremember it as being good "back in the day," but it wasn't good then, either; we remember it as being good because we had great boxers competing for us at the Olympics. Basically, we stopped pretending that Olympic boxing was ever any good when Americans stopped being good at boxing.tried giving Taekwondo a go but was just off put by the absurd amount of pads and have come to the conclusion that the best event of these Olympics has been Judo at least from a personal choice. Boxing has disappointed, no Lomachenkos in Paris for this one.

I believe you. What I'm saying is that it's always been like that, but Americans used to act like it wasn't, because Americans were good at boxing.not just talking from an American boxing stand point, simply the competition from all the countries was lackluster in my view. But admittedly, this is my first year I am watching Olympic Boxing so we'll see if the opinion changes come 2028 and beyond

Off the top of my head? Of course not. But Doctor Internet seems to suggest that it was Andre Ward.would you happen to know off the top of your head the last successful Olympic American boxer(s) that went on to have a successful pro boxing career?
