I never told anyone NOT to talk about the rumors. All I DID say is, that there are no sources and no quotes and that this means this is no reasonable journalism. Because of that it would be reasonable to try to calm down and trust our FO, who actually did say something regarding this topic.
After all I posted my opinion like everyone else. If you want to tell a poster to "get the f... out of here" just because you don't like his opinion, I don't care. Feel free to do so, but don't consider me impressed.
The quotes of Marcos Breton may be something to look at for you....
 
Marcos Breton and Leslie Moore are the only two people on Twitter to ever block me. I've tried to get Marcos to tell me why, by emailing him thru the Bee, and he ignores. So I have a lot less respect for the guy. Kinda don't care what he says anyway, but its the principle of the thing.
 
I don't know if I'm convinced of anything in this whole story but I suspect STRONGLY that Fegan and also PDA are working the social media and contacts incredibly hard. PDA and maybe Fegan taking inside information and twisting timelines and bits and pieces to fit an agenda.

Look, I want Cuz to stay.....and I get he's not the easiest guy to work with as far as personality goes but I want him here....but lets just play ball man. And I get that Karl has his way of doing things and sometimes that means tweaking his best players, as the idea I get from him is that he wants guys to play in a team aspect. And I get his ego is pretty damn big...don't care because this guy wins games. That's what I care about....winning games.

So we got a stud player and a coach who wins games......and we got a stud in Vlade.....whether Vlade is a good president or not will be determined later but I do know that he can bring people together and is a ROCK. If we can get this crap ironed out, there is a recipe for success here.

They may not have the win-now year next year if Cousins buys in, but it's guaranteed they won't have it if he isn't all in before the season starts. I agree that firing Karl wouldn't change Cousins' mind; if anything, it might be the decisive act to cause him to leave.

Cousins has had five coaches during his career. Two already had a long, notorious history of being confrontational with players (Westphal and Karl), two were emergency, temporary(!) replacements for fired coaches and had no real business in the top spot (Smart and Corbin), and one (Malone) earned Cousins' utter admiration and respect, but was fired anyway for dubious reasons.

The Kings had already been on a ridiculous coaching carousel long before Cousins was even a prospect, and of all those cast-off coaches, the only one to get another head coaching job in a league obsessed with re-treads was the one Cousins actually liked.

So I'm much more inclined to believe this continuing instability is far more indicative of Front Office incompetence than Cousins as a "coach killer."

Guys like Amick, Stein, Woj, Windhorst, Bruski aren't hacks, as much as a few here want to attack them because they don't like the news. It's interesting to watch a few attempt to convince themselves there's nothing to see here and imply the issue is actually with these guys, who have a pretty decent to good track record, especially when you stack that up against our incompetence.

Let's all sit here and pretend everything is peachy behind the scenes here and these guys are just baiting for clicks. They obviously need them given there's nothing else to write about like the NBA Draft tomorrow.

The point isn't that Brenton is a great basketball mind. However, he is a career journalist and is calling BS on his colleagues when he sees it.

There is obviously a lot going on here with Boogie, but the press is salivating over it and appears to be running with single anonymous sources. If that's true, it's gasoline on the fire and it hurts a small market like the Kings more that most. These guys are supposed to be reporting truth rather than letting agents, other team officials, and disgruntled employees push a narrative that doesn't check out elsewhere. Where is the accountability?
 
I think it's true that:

1. Woj and Spiers and Amick, et al are not hacks, but there are others who are (Bucher, Sheridan, Jason Jones, etc.) and
2. Some of those people, especially the national people, have learned that you can say whatever you want about the Kings to generate clicks, with no repercussions, and
3. Some of those people are also being used by PDA and Fegan to promote their agendas, but
4. ...there are definitely problems with the Kings, and we as fans should be concerned about it.​

So in my world, there are legitimate writers and hacks, but even the hacks are probably onto something. Everyone (including us) is being fed both true and untrue information at the moment.

My own personal strategy is to just to wait for Vlade to speak, because he's a guy you can trust. I'm just glad he's here. If it was just PDA and Vivek, we would be completely in the dark.

p.s. I should add that even the respected writers (Bruski, Woj [link]) occasionally write trite B.S., so you can't believe everybody 100% of the time.

Weasel is writing all this down in his diary to unleash if and when needed as he knows his clock is ticking/writing is on the wall. The weasel can turn Karl asking players their opinion on Cousins to he is trying to masterplan a coup de ta.

Voison reporting that Karl reached out to Boogie via text at least 10 times with no response. I don't know what to believe anymore, but that article was such a hit job in Cousins.

A lot of it is true though. These "sports writers" are after clicks. What's the best way to get clicks on the west coast? Say Boogie is going to be traded to LA Lakers. From what I saw it was one guy (who was not so reputable in my book) coming out with it then every other writer taking that story and making it theirs by adding something to the pot. Cousins wants a trade? I will turn that into Karl has pushed Cousins out of Sacramento, and then the next guy says Karl plotted against Cousins and had always wanted him off the team. It goes on and on and on. This is NOT real news.

Honestly, I can't believe that you still are biting on all these "leaks".

What if it's the truth? Hit job or not, if Karl truly took the first step and Cousins doesn't then I think this tells a lot about these two.
 
McGee could be alright as a backup, which I'm sure is all we want from him.

Dude can block shots at least.

He'll also miss easy transition drunks, and do other random highlight worthy dumb stuff..... so there is that.

Most of these guys are career journalists too and also have risen higher up the media ladder than a Breton has. Notice Amick, largely considered the best beat writer we've ever had and has risen to national prominence is a supplier.

I'd say Breton isn't in a position to say what's true and what isn't and given he's not reporting on this, can't verify the validity of the sources either. Respected writers have reported on this. Some will be true, some isn't but the underlying theme here is you'll rarely, if ever see all these names attach themselves to something if nothing is there, which some here seem to be suggesting and brushing these guys off as hacks. I'd say that's denial.

And since when is Breton in a position to judge whether guys like Woj, Stein and Amick are correct or not? Where's his sources suggesting this is all wrong? To even make the argument these writers are wrong you must first know the info they're peddling is false. If he's going to sit there and say "name" writers are simply "writing whatever they want", it's on him to back that accusation up. There's a reason they're "name" writers in the first place.

If Breton is concerned about BS journalism, he need to look no further than his employer.

This is why it's hard to believe any news stories anymore. First the Cousins vs. Karl thing, then we are looking to move Gay to open space to rent Rondo for a year, and now we are interested in bringing in a guy who couldn't get playing time under Karl the last time they were together even though ownership demanded it. None of this makes any sense!

Yeah. they'd "probably" have to give up Randle. Lakers could give us #2 and half their junk roster and it still wouldn't be close to enough. They need to get over this because it's not happening.
 
As Brick has said (and maybe others), I like to think that the McGee thing is someone in our front office fighting fire with fire, and letting a few people know that we can start irritating false rumors as well.

If you want to have some fun with hindsight, look up Breton's quotes about the Malone firing. He was repeatedly saying. Calm down you lemmings. Malone was nothing special and this could totally work out fine with Corbin, which was nonsense if you had any knowledge regarding how crap Corbin was or inside knowledge about how the team felt about Malone. Of course, this is not his area. IMO, Breton is mostly worried about making sure the city's parking budges don't go into the red and the Kings quickly redevelop their additional downtown properties (which are more at issue if the team turn against Vivek) than providing expert analysis of when the Kings should move Cousins and the best return.

Karl also told them to take some time off and regroup. What did he text him? "hope you are having a great summer" "have a great trip in China" "nice job on the basketball camp" "hey, that's a really cool Marlin you caught" That could be considered 'reaching out' and if I was DeMarcus and I knew he had been trying to move me (remember his biggest thing is LOYALTY) I would probably not respond either. I know I will see him in camp and by then I will be ready to work, can focus on basketball. Now, if he texted "I'm very sorry DeMarcus, can we talk" that's a different animal, but I personally don't see George Karl as texting apologies, too much ego. He SHOULD, imo.

DMC would be pissed and not saying anything to anyone, and Rondo would be arguing with Karl who is on his cell phone talking it up with some cheerleaders with his hand in the face of Rondo..

Yeah Breton is an utmost tool and gets extremely pissy about being wrong. Check his history. I know we want to believe him now, but there's too much picking and choosing in Kings land whenever a media guy confirms what you want to hear.

Grant says we should dump DMC because he's a moody guy that can be difficult to play with ... but the team is looking to sign Rondo ok then.

The other thing that is priceless is when the Woj story broke, Grant's spin was, "Everybody wants DMC. It's some rumor today. It will be another rumor tomorrow. It's just going to be that way for a while. Get used it. Things will be fine."

The first time, I remember this total head in the sand spin approach was the Kings to Virginia Beach story. Where he said. "Cities want the Kings. It's some rumor today. It will be another rumor tomorrow. It's just going to be that way for a while. Get used it. Things will be fine."

The rub there was of course that the Virginia Beach story was true. Grant most likely knew it had legs. For months after it was clearly true, Grant pretended like that story was false or didn't exist. And then later, when it became clear that it was true ... he wasn't talking about the past. Oh, Peaches. Never change.

Nope, I can't take credit for that one. Rainmaker maybe? Not sure.

I view McGee as more of a useful pickup in what could be a stressful season -- comic relief you know? :p
