Ok, Ummm, Is It Really That Bad? (Kings/Lakers Discussion)

#1
The way I see it, we're still in good shape. We've beaten the Lakers at Staples, and the Lakers have beaten us at Arco. Now, we're still well ahead of Lakers on the standings.

I know it's a tough loss, but hopefully we can bounce back. Sadly, tomorrow will be a tough day at school considering I live near LA.

I've also had 4 bets, 2 of them for $5.00, and the other 2 for a $1.00 each, so $12.00 is gone, and plus I'm sure the Kobe jerseys will come out tomorrow and so will the trash talking. I'll just give the Lakers the props they deserve.

Kobe torched us, so did the rest of the Lakers, not much else to say. We started off good, but just lost it as the game progressed. I'm just wondering what happened to Chris Webber tonight? He was really quiet in the second half, especially in the 4th quarter. Did he even play in the 4th quarter?

its sad.... when should we start the "fire adelman" thread? because those laker scrubs would be useless on our team.... but they hit wide open 3's all night against us..... horrible.....

adelman isnt the problem... its called being lazy or giving up. Adelman didnt leave the Lakers with open 3's and other shots.... the players did... very bad defense, decent offense (wouldve been better had it been closer and we had starters in).

Bad defense, one game, next...

As much as RA is to blame - it is not nearly as much as the players. Only Bobby played tonight. No pride, no heart, nothing. They do not deserve to paied tonight.
Worst thing was watching LA killing us with our game.

Does anybody agree with me?
They'll bounce back and beat some not so great teams, but Phoenix is moving more and more ahead of us in the win column. This game should have had more urgency to the players. It seemed like they were just willing to trade baskets and not play defense which ended up biting them terribly in the 2nd quarter.

Like I said, lack of interior defense is a huge concern. Either take a charge or give a hard foul but don't just stand there and pick your nose.

Dominated by a 2nd tier team. Embarrassing.

We should not be watching the standings. The players should take a long look at the mirror. There was no team out there tonight.

Don't mean to beat a dead horse but...

Tonight was a total pimp slap in the face. The Lakers shot soooo well because they had soooo many wide open shots. This season is the worst I have seen the Kings play defense ever!!!

Most importantly we allowed 50!! points in the paint. It was like watching layup drills. Didn't we get Ostertag to clog the paint!!! I am glad we got our moneys worth out of him tonight. Coaching was the biggest mistake tonight. When something is not working you need to adjust, no effort was made to adjust. This would have been a game where his defensive presence could help. Hands down he is the best big man defender we have. Not only that but he may be quicker than Miller and Webber from what I have seen!

No matter how bad the offense was the fact that we got no significant stops is a bad sign, an even worse sign is it has been the case in the games we have won as well.

Once again folks.....

PLAY OSTERTAG!!

Don't forget that Songaila played really hard too.
The keys to the loss:
1) Way too many easy looks for the Lakers. I thought we learned the last time that former Big Ten player of the year and U of I alumn B-Cook can shoot. Not sure why they kept leaving him open again.
2) Christie can't stop Kobe when Kobe has a bad game, much less when he's on fire.
3) Lamar Odom became another nightmare matchup for C-Webb, on defensive end.
4) Pedja needs to work on those 2mm hops
5) Bibby needs to play D
6) Lots and lots of missed good looking jumpers, in particular Pedja and Miller.

This gets more pronounced with every loss/tough win. I'm beginning to suspect, as clutch as Bibby may be on offense, that he may not be our solution at PG. Bibby can't stop anybody; he couldn't stop a garbage can, if it was one of those kinds that have wheels on the bottom...
