What do you guys think? Milwaukee gets ripped off?

Kings get a nice passing PG and a nice PF.

Can't see why the Bucks would make that deal. There are still major concerns about TJ Ford returning from his spine injury and Williams, while a mediocre starter, has shown he can be a very good backup PG. That's not to mention Kenny's albatross of a deal.

Indiana

Anthiony Johnson and Jeff Foster for Kenny Thomas

No way. The Pacers love Foster and for good reason. He is a heck of a glass cleaner and a great effort guy. I'd love to have him on the Kings as a 4/5 sub or even a starter alongside Brad, but it's just not going to happen.

With luck, Kenny Thomas for Joe Smith, but I'm not sure if it's better

So out of all that we end up with Anotine Walker and a pick?

Frankly, we would be better off just stopping after stage 1, and bringin home Rasho (and Scola) for KT or Corliss. We could use the shotblocking and a second legit big man. But have no idea why San Antonio would do that at all. Corliss has a shorter deal than Rasho, but have to beleive they could do better and not deal with a potential rival, far though we may have fallen.
Ok. Keep Nesterovic and the player not traded to San Antonio (K Thomas or C Williamson) for futures trades.
If we do the other trade (Sac-Chi-Bos) we'll have a starting pf AND the MLE.

Hey what about Peja, thomas, skinner and martin for jermaine oneal and ron artest. Why we do it just look what we get. why they do it I have no clue, but it would be nice :) eal Gm said it would work :)

Corliss and Skinner to Denver for Kenyon Martin.

Denver may be looking to unload a huge contract in K-Mart, especially with Nene up and coming. The Nuggets have indicated that they are interested in giving Nene a huge deal and trading KMart may be the way to make that possible. They also get some nice serviceable parts in return.

Huge plus for the Kings in that we can get a good defender at PF who can be molded to fit the system. After playing in NJ with Kidd I can't imagine adapting to Kings basketball to be too much of a stretch. He gets more assists than average at the PF spot and is a decent scorer, traits that I imagine would only improve in Sacramento. We can also keep Kenny to back him up and provide scoring off the bench, or trade him to get a backup PG, SF or C. Suddenly we have an explosive offensive team again that can be run efficiently and defensive intensity with rebounding.

Alternatives include Thomas/Skinner and Thomas/Corliss. We can then build our bench with some skilled players using the MLE. Potentially, we could add Doug and Payton with what we've got left.

PG:Bibby/Payton/Christie
SG:Wells/Garcia/Christie
SF:Peja/KevMartin/Garcia
PF:KenMartin/Thomas
C:Miller/Thomas

This is a very good team I think. Plenty of offensive and good defensive too. Also I can imagine adding another defensive roleplayer to really solidify this team. Getting to the 2nd or even 3rd round of the playoffs is a possibility again. Of course, the other possibility is being again handcuffed by big contracts, but I think it's worth the risk.

Denver isn't going to trade Kenyon Martin to the Kings and not get Bibby, Peja, or Brad in return. Unless they are really desperate, but playoff teams aren't that desperate. Anyway, I don't think they'll trade Kenyon Martin right now. If they don't make the playoffs this season, they may consider trade deals - but they're still going to want a star player in return of course.

As I said, they're focus is on Nene at PF, not Martin. Just because a team makes the playoffs doesn't mean they won't make any moves. If a team can improve, it will. Denver identified Nene as being part of their core, along with (I assume) Carmelo, Camby and Miller. Having a big contract like Martin means that they can't do as much to retain the players they really want to focus on. I also recall reports that Martin may be on the move anyway, but don't hold me to that. Point is, Denver has enough options that they would probably take a good offer for Martin, especially if it involves shorter contracts. Should we aquire him we would be very close to being a contender, so I think Petrie should pursue him.

hell, why not!!

I say we trade for a PF and use the MLE on a back up point guard.

Agreed. I think it'd be kind of a waste to get Payton though, I'd have a few other guys ahead of him.

Then whatever we have left on one of our FAs.

If we couldn't trade for Nene, sincerely sincerely doubt we can trade for KMart. And frankly, I'd probably rather have Nene. Kenyon remians one of the most terminally overrated players in the NBA. He's too small, and can't play unless its a running game. Numbers last year? 15.5pts 7.3rebs. I'd take him over Kenny because he gives you the big effort on defense. But he is terminally overmatched against the elite PFs and ridiculously overpaid.

Nene/K-Mart frustrate Duncan though. :P

I'd love to see K-Mart on this team, but hopefully that leg injury isn't too bad.

Being overrated and not as good as Nene is kind of the point. We couldn't get Nene, so maybe we can get KMart because Denver would rather have Nene than Kmart. His numbers last year were below career avgs, but those aren't much better- 17 and 8.5 roughly. We need him because he provides good defense that we are sorely lacking right now. He can also fit well in a passing offense and we can bring out his greatest skills. Also if we can retain Thomas we can have a big offensive punch off the bench. The other big big incentive for this trade is that we now have the entire MLE to pursue either a bunch of roleplayers to take care of rebounding and defense or just to throw at one more skilled PF/C to shore up this team. Kmart alone may not be that great, but if we do the trade as I suggest we then can turn our team into a deep one again. Defense and depth are always a good thing in my book.

It's not a bad idea in theory, but 1) Denver could get better for KMart and 2) Kenyon Martin at the max until 2010/2011? No thanks.

That is the one problem with this trade-KMart's value may not be that high, but other teams can offer more. Maybe a 3 team deal? Remember, this is Petrie here. We got Brad cheap, I'm confident he can work his magic again.

Here is a good trade this ofcourse means the Bulls resign Curry. But what about Mike Bibby for Kirk and a resigned Tyson. We of course give a pick or two aswell. Here is my trade break down,

Bulls trade
Tyson Chandler
Kirk Hinrich

For
Mike Bibby
Kevin Martin
1 pick

This would give us a line up of

PG:Kirk Hinrich/Eddie House
SG:Bonzi Wells/Fransico Garcia
SF: Pedja Stojakovic/Bonzi/FA
PF:Tyson Chandler/Kenny Thomas
C: Brad Miller/Skinner

Not really feeling the trade wit hkirk. We are losing to much to get what we need. This if we are desperate.

I think we are not losing that much. We are not going to get Chandler unless we trade something big. With this trade at least we get two starters out of it. I think Kirk would fit this team like a glove. We get younger at both position yet our talent level still is at the same level or higher consider ingwe get help on the boards and shot blocking we Chandler.

Chicago says no. A good young PG and a great young C for a good, older PG. Don't think so.

I think you underestimating Bibby He is a top 5 piont in the NBA. That trade is good for both sides.

I think Chicago only does that trade if it is a given that Chandler won't be back. (Is he going to be back? I haven't paid attention to this)

Otherwise, they're probably better off sticking with what they've got.

Hinrich
Wells
Peja
Chandler
Miller

That would be a very good team, maybe championship contenders, depending on how the two guards play.

I really doubt Chicago would do that either. But even as somebody who thinks Mike is the best thing we've got going, I think I would pull that trigger if I were us. Would be some serious concerns though as far as a championship march. Would be leaning a lot on Bonzi, always an interesting situation, and clearly would need Peja to score a ton. The problem is that history shows that we'd run into Bruce Bowen or Tayshaun Prince or somebody like that in the playoffs, and all of a sudden our main offesnive weapon would disappear, leaving us with Bonzi as to try to carry the offense. At least we'd look scary on paper. But when it comes down to winning time how do you win when your two best offensive weapons are NOT winners for different reasons? That's an incredibly unreliable duo.

Like I say, I'd do it, but how serious of a contender are you when its in the clutch and the best you have to turn to is Peja Stojakovic? And then when he fails, its on to the ever reliable Bonzi Wells?

I'd dig that a whole lot... it's quite fair. As much as I like Bibby.

Get Mo for that FA spot at SF. :P

Hinrich proved he's clutch just about all-season, and play-off long. I'm so glad I taped that Bulls/Wiz series, was one of the best series of the 2005 playoffs.

Agree with that assessment, but if that trade does go down, we've still got the MLE to add another impact player. That's why I want to get a PF through a trade, so that we can build a decent bench. With the Bibby trade, we still have Kenny Thomas on the bench, who can do good things for us. MLE allows us to go after another player who can be a good roleplayer for us. I really want to see us pick up Christie and Payton and one other guy. Maybe even bring back Mo, too.

PG:Hinrich/Payton/Christie
SG:Wells/Evans/Christie/Garcia
SF:Peja/Garcia/Barnes?
PF:Chandler/Thomas/Corliss
C:Miller/Skinner

That team is deep, and scary. If Peja does break down we can turn to Payton, Christie, Evans, Thomas and Bonzi to step up. On any given night at least one of them should be able to do something. I also think that that team could play some defense, a la 2003 Kings.

I still think Chicago says no. I agree Bibby is a top 5 PG, but these are the Baby Bulls and they are building for a big run in the future, not building up now. Chandler will be an elite player in 3 or 4 years and should have a max deal heading his way. He will carry that team. Hinrich will also take over as one of the top PG in the league once Kidd, Bibby and Nash ride into the sunset. The trade makes sense for this season maybe, but if you have any vision you see why Chicago rejects this.

Is everyone susprised that there hasn't been too much said about Chandler in free agency????? Maybe Petrie is up to something :D

What do you reckon about this idea (maybe a bit of a pipe dream but anyway)

S&T Darius Songaila to Wizards for Juan Dixon. We have expressed interest in Dixon and Wizards have shown some interest in Darius. With the departure of Bobby, I think we are in the market for a combo guard who can come off the bench and give us a scoring punch and a bit of spark. Washington do this as they get a player they like and get something for Dixon. We do it because it gives us a combo guard off the bench.

Trade Corliss Williamson to Clippers for a re-signed Zeljko Rebraca. Clippers do it to get some depth on the bench since Corliss is a former 6th man of the year. He has 2 years remaining on his contract and Clippers have salary cap room to absorb his salary. We do it because we get a genuine back up C who has skills to play in our system. Rebraca has a post up game and is a solid rebounder.

Use part of or all of the MLE to sign Eddie Griffin as a back up 3/4. He brings athleticism, shotblocking, intensity and energy off the bench.

Sign Matt Barnes.

Now here comes the tricky part. Petrie works his magic and some how makes a multiple team trade that gets us Chandler. Unlikely I know but this is GP we are talking about :)

PG: Bibby
SG: Wells
SF: Stojakovic
PF: Chandler
C: Miller

Bench: Dixon, Griffin, Rebraca, Martin, Skinner, House, Garcia, Barnes.

Generally, Adelman uses a 8 or 9 man rotation. We have a 1/2 in Dixon, 3/4 in Griffin and 5 in Rebraca. Rebraca might not be a shotblocker but that is somewhat offset with the addition of Griffin and Chandler. We get more athletic and better defensively. We get a versatile bench with players that play multiple position.

What do you think of this team??????
