[NBA] Comments that don't warrant their own thread: Training camp/preseason

What a awful game between Orlando & New Orleans. Wow! I am glad that this game is not for real because that would be a waste of NBA TV air time showing a 30 point blowout.

So, when did Hornets become such a lame team? To me, this looks like they continue to play awful, like they ended last season? Peja is dominating, on the other hand, that's the only reason to watch it :)

David West did not play but I don't know how much of a difference that would of made. Hornets just don't have enough weapons around CP3 to succeed like they want to, they might win 35-40 games this season but they will have to do it by outscoring their opponents, they had an awful starting line up tonight by the way. Joe Alexander starting, enough said.

There is actually some truth to that. That is the single most PG unfriendly offense in the NBA, and the last one that needs or can really utilize a creative passer, let alone one who can't shoot.

Well, the triangle, or just about any variation of the Princeton offense requires all five players on the floor to be somewhat creative passers. But I agree with you that if you have a great passing point guard, it does limit how many times he gets a chance to apply his craft. Your dead right on the shooting. All five players have to be able to shoot the ball, otherwise the whole system breaks down

Did I mention I wanted Jordan Craword? Wow! I love that guy. He can just put up points and do it well, inside & out. He is going to have a productive rookie season for Atlanta if he gets 20 min. off the bench for them, not waste him on the bench like they did with Jeff Teague.

Yeah he sat out yesterday's preseason game against ATL inorder to give Nick Young the starting spot. That's good ol Gil for ya :).

Hornets are in mediocre No-Man's-Land. I'd be shocked if CP3 is still there two years from now.

^ Isn't Utah stuck in the same boat? I know they make the playoffs year in and year out, but they never get anywhere really. I don't know if D. Will will demand a trade anytime soon, it will be interesting to see for sure.

He good and all don't get me wrong.. but right now Blake Griffin plays like a grownass MAN.. this guy is a BEAST.

He just might be a 20/10 right from the get-go.... but realisticly i'd put him on a 15/10 easy this year.. once he bounce his FTs % up it will boost his ppg by alot.

He's just so fun to watch.. Clips got a good side.. other then the SF position they're above solid in everything.

It will be an interesting race for R.O.Y. this year for sure, Blake has been quite impressive up to this point himself.

Yes, they are in the same boat. I'd rather be in Hell for three years than Purgatory forever.

If Griffin stay healthy, the Clipps should make the playoffs. Even Davis might become interested enough to start playing again.

Absolutely agree. You can only take so much before things just keep repeating itself. I mean if that organization is happy with going to the playoffs and getting eliminated in the 1st or 2nd round, then so be it. I guess you have to stay competitive to keep your franchise PG & fanbase loyal and attending games.

You are forgetting one important fact: They're the Clippers.

Yup thats a major one.

Also Griffin so far went down HARD to the floor like 5-6 times from what i've seen.. he gotta learn to protect himself more, no one can keep this up dayin dayout for a whole year, let alone several years.

If he keeps this playstyle up, he ain't gonna last long before his next injury sadly.

He fakes an injury(a groin pull) for one game, only to leave the following game early (with an actual groin pull!) .

Just imagine if he said it was his knee?

I think he did say it was a knee for the game he skipped, not a groin. At least that is what they said on the Rise Guys if I remember correctly.

It was a little "different" on what he did inorder for his teammate to get some playing time. But, it was a nice gesture from him and that's what makes him Gil. Now, if this was in the regular season it would be a different story, it's in the preseason so no harm done. It is unfortunate he pulls a groin after only playing 3 minutes. I am sure he will be fine once the season comes along, I don't know if he is sitting out the remainder of preseason or not.

I have been a big Gordon Hayward fan since watching him in the summer league. But following his box scores in the preseason, it really looked like he was having trouble defending since he had a lot of fouls.

But I finally got to watch him play against the Lakers last night and he looked as incredible as I remembered in the summer league... Actually even more so because he was having the game of his life.

I think only in the preseason you will see the Lakers lose to the Jazz. Lakers own Utah so bad it's not even funny. Okay, maybe Utah might get a win at home once against LA but other than that, you won't see much success from Utah's side.
