Kings training camp 2025 open thread

Sabonis traveled with the team to LA and is currently listed as a "game-time decison." He had an MRI on his hamstring.

I doubt he or Malik Monk will play tomorrow night, but it does not sound like the injury will be long-term in the case of Sabonis.

Both Sabonis and Monk will be out tonight against the Lakers. Monk is still recovering from an illness.

Bad news? That's good news. Rushing your best player back and risking further injury just so you can get doinked again in a preseason game would be stupid.

This is one of the downsides of having such a hard camp. The legs go first. Rest up and get ready for the games that matter. Play the young guys tonight. Sit the vets and let them think about things because a lot of this is in their heads now.

Wait, wait a minute. Didn’t the vets revolt against Brown because he worked them too hard and they couldn’t spend more time with their families? Doug better be careful here.

We’ve been making deep playoffs runs no need for Doug to practice them that hard anyways

Terence Davis came and went, came and went. The team waived him today, according to Marc Spears, leaving the roster at a full 18 players, including three two-way contracts.

Will he sign with Stockton? Stay tuned.

Guessing it’s the ankle injury he had from the end of the Lakers game.
It's still two days until the first game of the season, but in addition to Sabonis and Murray being out, Schröder, Isaac Jones, DeMar DeRozan, and Russell Westbrook are all listed as game-time decisions. Malik Monk is off the injured list so he must have recovered from his recent illness.

It looks like the young guys plus Keon Ellis will be playing more than anticipated.

DeRozan and Schröder are now off the injured list, but Isaac Jones will not play. He is out with an illness. Missed opportunity for the young guy, but maybe he can come back by Friday.

Hoping to see Malik Monk bounce back and be himself again and a lot more consistently. The guy can play so i hope he’s feeling ok and ready for the real thing tonight. Our scorers have got to look for their own (within reason of course) and shake off the stupid narratives about them not being winners and blah blah. Just go PLAY! Also hoping for a healthy dose of Keon Ellis on Devin Booker - hopefully they don’t call a bunch of ticky tac fouls on him.
