Correct. Butler caused the ball to go into the backcourt, the call was (yet again, shockingly) in error in the other team's favor.
I gotta respectfully disagree. My interpretation of the rule (and it looks like this officiating crew agrees with me) has always been that the player who touched the ball last "caused" the ball to go into the backcourt. Just because Butler's swipe knocked the ball into Monk's knee doesn't mean that Butler "caused" the ball to go into the backcourt; Monk's knee did that.

That's wrong it's possession if it's tipped is not longer a possession thing

At the game tonight, hoping we pull it out. All these new faces seem to be getting acclimated pretty well. I love how Mike Brown finds a way to get Fox playing to start the 2nd quarter. You don’t always see coaches do this

Sabonis actually looking for his shot is LIFE changing for us. Screw this quarterback dribble handoff and get out of the way crap

Our new weapons making it easier for Fox to blow by people and get in the lane just brings tears to my eyes. We’re gonna be fine

Mike Brown has clearly made adjustments to make sure Sabonis ain’t finishing games with just 6 shot attempts. Love to see us feeding him like this

Yeah, there's been a lot more drive and dish rather than trying to turn him into Shaq. Sabonis is soo much better off the catch and finish.
