[Game] Kings v. Bucks, 3/23/14, 3PM PDT, 6 PM EDT

I seriously question Rudy still being in the game.

Just what is Malone thinking
?

My guess - and it's nothing more than that - is he's using Rudy as the veteran presence out there. If that is what he was thinking, I'm almost certain he's had a change of heart in the past couple of minutes.

Just as an aside - Isaiah is having an excellent game. 25 points on 10 shots, 7 assists and only 1 turnover. What you don't see is a significant number in the rebound column, which is what some of us were trying to say the other night. IT could easily end up with another double-double but this game is an indication that getting double-digit rebounds is not going to be easy for him. And that, in turn, means the chances of him getting multiple triple-doubles are not that good.

Guess we won't be seeing White at all this year. Not gonna be a better opportunity than the game we just watched. My mind is boggled

Okay, I am now officially pissed off. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason Royce White couldn't have gotten a couple of minutes of court time.

Well, Royce has now set another career record. He actually touched the ball AND took a shot. What's next? Actually scoring a point? :)

God, I love Kayte. Interviewing DMC, she says, "I want you to elaborate on what's going through your mind as you're literally running point, handling the ball in transition, taking it full court and getting a dunk. There's not any center in the league that can do that."

Cousins smiles and says, "What's going through my mind? (He laughs) First thing is don't fall over your feet!"

Malone just consistently does the exact opposite of what he says he's going to do.

He says Orlando Johnson is going to get an opportunity, he barely plays in two weeks. He says he's going to cut Thomas' minutes because of the wrist + fatigue, he doesn't. Say's Royce White is going to play, Kings up by 40, still on the bench.

I guess we have to condition ourselves to stop taking what he says as truth. Some coaches do this, by the way. Bill Belichick is a habitual liar.

The bolded part is what I was referring to. It's not a particularly egregious statement, but it's not entirely accurate, either.

I don't know what she said here, but sometimes I have noticed that she is an analyst. She knows what's going on. And so oemtimes here questions have a tendency to take the form of detailed analyses not leaving much for the interviewee to say but "yep".

There might be other forces at play here. He might be saying what the FO wants to hear, then doing what he wants as coach.

I take it as more evidence the FO and Malone are not on the same page. That's a growing concern to me. June/July will tell us a lot.

Maybe reporters need to quit asking questions about what Malone intends to do. I do not think Malone is intentionally lying. I think things come up that change his point of view and determine a different course of action.

(In Belichick's case, however, I think he intentionally lies to reporters...)

I hope that's not it, because in every case I mentioned I'd side with the front office. Orlando should have played over Outlaw. Thomas should get some minutes cut in favor of McCallum at this point in the season. And in no reality should White, who has about 7 days left in his contract, sit in a 40 point blowout. Why even bring him in if you're going to do that?

And I really don't want to have to question the coach of this team again. But these are some weird calls on Malones part. And I generally like what he's done this season, for the record.
