Kings trading pick!

This is exactly the type of sf we DO NOT need. Horibble, horrible, horrible. I'd drive to SA and pick up RJ before accepting Salmons.

I'm irate. This better not be true.

Trade away our steadying vet presence at pg, take on a huge amount of salary(for a horrible player who doesn't fit whatsoever), and trade the 7 for 10? Fire Petrie before the draft. We have 2 hrs to save this franchise.

I think this is the worst trade I have seen in a long, long time. Unfortunately, my favorite team is the doormat.

This trade is bad, so bad...it makes us significantly worse and equally, saddled with a bad, unmoveable contract.

I'll be the first to say it: sabotage?

Yeah, this makes no sense. It's pretty mind-boggling. Why trade Beno and take on Salmons and move down? It's just stupid. Seriously, what is Petrie doing? This doesn't make sense on ANY level.

Maybe the Maloofs wanted this so we can take Jimmer. It appears we're going Jimmer or Walker at 10 anyway.

Here's one thing I'm double checking again: Salmons' inclusion in the deal. Hold tight. Getting conflicting info from sources on him.

Can't be Salmons. Does Ilyasova work?

I does work without Livingston for Salmons or Ilyasova... let's hope it is Ilyasova.

Salmons' monster 4 year- high dollar contract does not seem like the sort of thing the Kings would accept on any level... just doesn't feel like something they would want any part of.

Multiple source have confirmed this, which scares me. But this is ridiculous. Doing nothing and over drafting Jimmer at 7 would have been better than this.

We didn't have enough guys that like to pound the ball and watch the clock go down? If they wanted Jimmer so bad, just take him at #7. Seems like a contrived move just to avoid picking Jimmer too high.

Then there is this on Twitter: Sacramento not done dealing. Look for them to deal 10 & salmons for tony Parker and Richard Jefferson

If the deal is as reported it makes no sense. I'd rather have Beno than Salmons on this team in terms of fit and definitely in terms of salary. To make that deal AND move down three spots is head scratching to say the least.

Waiting for actual confirmation, but if it is true the Kings just got worse.

@SHowardCooper Scott Howard-Cooper
Kings acquisitions were NOT to flip them into a deal with the Spurs, I am told.

Thankfully. Hopefully we can flip Salmons off somewhere else.
Please be right, Dime. I expect Salmons to be swung into another deal, but if it's for that damned Parker-Jefferson "deal", then I will be upset. I'd rather have Jimmer and Salmons the ball hog for under $10 million over Parker and Jefferson for $20+ million.

Not sure why all the hate? Salmons is an upgrade over any SF on the roster, both offensively and defensively. Now we grab Jimmer at 10 and you've added a good shooter and a replacement for Beno as well as an upgrade at SF. And from what I've read the final year of Salmons contract is not all guaranteed.

Seems like GP has something bigger planned for this team...get set, we just landed Salmons/#10...next comes picking Jimmer at #10 today...and who the hell ELSE knows what else! Something tells me Mr. Dalembert isnt coming back and we're about to make a trade for a veteran center. I DON'T, however, think we'll be trading for Mr. Tony F. Parker any time soon.

I try to not to be one of those knee jerk reaction guys, but I feel sick to my stomach right now. Actually it’s 1 part sick, 1 part disappointment and 1 part anger.

Geoff was mad he had to trade away Salmons before the end of the MLE we signed him too, and so got him back to play out 4 more years of his contract. :)

Well, seriously, I do not like John Salmons. A pouty little glum me player. BUT, there is a theory here. Personality aside, which Geoff probably likes since he has none either, when we have talked about what we neded froma SF, we said, defense, three point shooting, and maybe the ability to berign the ball up some to take pressure off of Reke. Well, guess what John Salmons brings? And given that we just got rid of Beno, the other possibility is what have we talked about as a good fit next to Reke as a SG? Well defense, some ability to create, knock down spot up threes -- a new Doug Christie. Skillwise, Salmons is in the mold. Of course its the mentality, and endless contract which are the big questions. He's never happy. Ever. He plays for himself. He has passing skills, and yet is still mostly known as a ball pounding blackhole, which just won't work. If he just came back here with a major attitude transplant the skillset is almost right (although if he's the SF we will now have the worst rebounding SFs in the league, by far). But alas, he's still been John Salmons. Most recently being unable to work consistently with two other top young PGs in Rose and Jennings. Now he gets to give it a try with Reke.

Wow. My initial overreaction? I'm this close to just quitting this team right now. I expected something I didn't like to go down, but this is worse than I expected. Couldn't we at least wait to see if Knight falls to 7 before trading the pick? Have you seen Salmons' contract? So we spent the last 5 years in lottery hell patiently waiting to unload contracts -- and re-upping John Salmons after he bailed out on two other franchises is step one of the master plan? Why don't we just trade Tyreke and Cousins while we're at it? Uggh.

It's the volume of posts and checking of posts. The one word comments, the idiotic comments, and even the constant checking to see what is new eats up bandwidth. Posters can help by being more selective in what they say and putting multiple thoughts into one post. Humor is fun but will add to the problem. Nobody will change their pattern but this would help.

I think it is an issue of value. You don't take on a huge contract for a smaller contract and trade down in the draft for nothing... there must be another player involved (Ilysaova? Sanders?) or additional future picks or something... just doesn't add up.
