It has to be done in this order!

Holmes is the priority, moving him that is. So you've gotta let Holmes try and show he can fill a spot on the depth chart for someplace he might fit better. If he just rots on the bench certainly other teams have less incentives to let us unload him for cheap.

That being said his minutes tonight were ugly.

As for Queta I think there's a solid case to be made that next season will determine his fate with the kings, much more so than this current season.

I understand the Holmes contract issue, and regarding Queta, He is on his last 2-way contract, so next we either give him a normal contract or he will walk, either to another NBA team or to Euroleague.

Once you take into account those 4 things then start to look at 1) potential center options in free agency 2) potential c options with the 1st rd pick, just seems like keeping Queta here for a real showcase is pretty much all reward n little risk. The Warriors for example with the huge 10mil option on James Wiseman, Queta offers the Kings a much less costly option n Queta has thoroughly outplayed Wiseman in the g-league.

The Kings are also going to have like 8 open roster slots next season and not enough cap space to fill them all with big name pieces. He’ll get his opportunity. He just unfortunately plays the same position as the team’s most important player.
