I'd rather have lee than baylessI think the larger missed opportunity was not somehow making Thornton that man instead of Lee.

Again, at dre's age I'm surprised if he would want to join a bottom 6 team to serve as a mentor, if he's a competitor he would like one more shot at that ring
If we want to even be discussing Embiid on other threads than adding win now veterans to a bottom feeding team might not make sense
...I will always love Miller though for what he did to Blake.. LOL
If you don't know what I'm talking, this is a must watch.
Since Dave appears to at least hear somethings this tweet is also interesting:We the fans are discussing Embiid. I remain unconvinced that's what the front office is thinking, but we shall see over the next 6 weeks or so.
Pete ain't stupid. He's swinging for the fences and eyeing the future. Lots of assets on the horizon. Pick +19 mil expiring to start.

Gay's contract isn't an expiring until the summer. Pick or whoever Kings pick might enter trades then as well. Maybe there's a trade for LeBron in the works.![]()

If we can get any of these I would be thrilled atm
#1 Taj Gibson (7.5mil): comes at a decent contract and is a shot blocker, can space the floor on offence, elite pick n roll defender and very good springy athlete in his prime @28 years old and in general a elite defender. In recent times has added a post game better than anyone not named Cousins on our squad.
#2 Larry Sanders: The defense version of DeMarcus Cousins, has had issues can play both PF/C probably the best shot blocker in the NBA after Hibbert maybe, insane athlete can easily cover all big's other than the mammoths like Pekovic he's still young on a big risky contract.
#3 Brandon Wright: long lean athlete who if he could stay healthy imo could easily be a solid starter in the NBA, crazy wingspan good shot blocker and understands movement without the ball and has good hands.
#4: Henson (only put him at 4 cause it's highly unlikely): Young/skilled/smart a bit skinny but makes up for it with good upside.
#5: Ed Davis: has still yet to really be given a proper chance of playing 30+ mins to show his talents, can block shots and is fairly skilled and athletic.
At this point, it is almost statistically impossible for the Kings to make a splash this season. Assuming every western conference team between us and #7 plays .500 ball from here on out, we would need to win 68% of our remaining games in order to reach the playoffs. The only teams with a winning percentage that high right now are the Spurs, Blazers, Heat, Pacers, and Thunder.
If the front office is in "win now" mode, then they are doing it wrong. At this point, they should be building for next year.
#1: Rumors out of Chicago are that the Bulls will either trade Deng or let him walk in the offseason and amnesty Boozer with the idea that Gibson is the man at PF going forward. I doubt he's available unless we send Cousins back on our end.
#2: There's a maybe here. Milwaukee is sort of an inverse Kings in that they have 3 shotblockers and no post scorers on the team. I think that if the right deal was out there for Sanders, he might be available. Landry has to be somewhat attractive for them as a scoring presence and locker room leader, but I think they would want to pair Landry with Sanders while Henson continues to develop.
#3: You would have better luck getting Bernard James or Dalembert out of Dallas than Wright who the Dallas front office really likes.
#4: Henson is unavailable. He, Antetokounmpo and Wolters have been the only bright parts of a very grim year in Milwaukee.
#5: Ed Davis is probably in a similar situation to Gibson. He is supposed to be the cheap replacement for Randolph as the Grizzlies retool.
If we want to trade for a shot blocker, we're going to have to look down team's benches quite a ways. Guys like Ekpe Udoh and Biyombo fill the shotblocking need, but lack understanding of the larger game. Udoh is a terrible rebounder for his size and Biyombo has no offensive game to speak of, but if all you want is rim protection, they are both pretty good at that.

Execs not involved in talks say they're hearing #Kings possibly among facilitators in potential Bynum trade. Speculative, but worth noting.
It means we get the shaft while other teams get what they want. We're the mule. To add: If team 1 wants to unload extra crap that team 2 doesn't want, team 3 (us) will step in to help facilitate that trade by taking that crap. Sometimes it comes with a sweetener in terms of a draft pick, I suppose. He is speculating that the Kings are facilitators? Can he be any more vague? I do not even know what a facilitator is.
maybe part of a multi team deal I guess? He is speculating that the Kings are facilitators? Can he be any more vague? I do not even know what a facilitator is.
ewwww nothing but MT and Outlaw i would hope
edit) nevermind that amico. he just spews crap most of the time.
Has anything he has reported ever been true? I rank him below Latino Post in terms of trustworthiness.
Saw that and didn't understand it. Gay isn't really an expiring as he has a player option and we can't trade our pick.
