Kings active in trade talks?

I like the trade idea for Teague. Teague is really high on my list of point guards that I like for this team, perhaps #1 or #2.

Our best bet at improving our perimeter D is defending opposing point guards. The perfect player for our front court can block shots and rebound. Acquiring these players has to be pretty high on our list of priorities. Point guards come a lot cheaper than starting quality, shot blocking big men. It would make the most sense to trade for the point guard and draft the big man. So why not do the suggested trade for Teague and draft Embiid/Cauley-Stein? That is of course if we have no shot at Parker/Wiggins.
I suggested last year we try trade Reke for Teague (was shot down), Teague would have been a monster with us but I doubt we get him now since that German Rondo is now in the D-League and not playing all that well.

We should trade for the German Rondo right now.

Bynum is going to be released from the Cavs. Man if the dude actually cared about playing that would be a scary frontcourt, DMC and Bynum.

I'm actually wondering if we could somehow make a trade to take in Bynum (who would be dumped immediately) and get our pick back. I would say maybe Williams/Thornton but I'm not sure if our bench could handle taking a hit like that. That and we can only trade Williams solo at this point, right? Would be nice to come up with a way to pull it off though.

No team will be wanting Bynum.....Cleveland can just waive him and save 6million. They need a SF. Only guy that fits that is Derrick Williams....what would they give us along with Bynum so that when we waive Bynum we have something to show for it? The answer is probably nothing. I don't like their moveable pieces. Damn, I think they keep screwing the pooch in their drafts. Reached for Tristan Thompson, reached for Dion Waiters, reached for Anthony Bennett.........

Cleveland wants to get rid of bynum since he got suspended. What player on our roster is worth bynum?

None. There's no way you bring Andrew Bynum here.

And for the record? From what Cav fans are saying on various forums, it's Bynum that's giving up on the team and basketball, not the other way around.

Yup. He's a lost cause. So much potential too

Any reports on what Bynum did? I mean if we all remember cousins got suspended for conduct detrimental as well

According to Yahoo Sports, Bynum's motivation and desire to play is at the heart of this. "He doesn't want to play basketball anymore. He never liked it that much in first place," one source told Yahoo.

I almost feel bad for the 76ers. Not for the Cavs - I think they knew full well what they were getting into. But the Sixers? That trade (Iguodala/Vucevic/Harkless/#1 for Zero-Games-Of-Bynum/Shell-Of-Jason-Richardson) has to be among the worst trades of all time, maybe the very worst ever.

Awful trade....just awful.

marcus thornton, outlaw for bynum and our future 1st back.

If he truly doesn't want to play basketball anymore, why is that a good idea? I can understand a player saying "well. I've got about $50 mil in the bank and I think I'd just like to do my own thing." If his team puts him on waivers, we will have a chance to sign him and if we REALLY want him, that would be the least expensive way of acquiring him. I may need a re-education in how the waiver rules work but I am guessing that the worst teams, which includes us, has the first shot at him and we would negotiate how much we would pay with his old team picking up the difference. If he still didn't want to play, we just eat a smaller amount.

if we waived him after acquiring him, we'd save $6m/yr, remove 2 players from the roster + get the draft pick back.

alternatively, we could move him to a 3rd team who has a large expiring to wash our hands off of bynum.

the roster would be

Cousins, Gray
Thompson, Landry, H
Gay, Williams, Acy
Ben, Acy, Jimmer
IT, Mcallum

I was referring to the idea that he didn't want to play basketball at all and that his present team might want to put him on waivers. IF we wanted him, we could pick him up, assuming he clears waivers, for the veteran minimum and the Cavaliers would pay the rest of his salary.

I don't want him at all but am just playing the "what if" game.

My first assumption how waivers worked was wrong.

What the hell do you want Bynum for?

If it gets that conditional draft pick back from Cleveland then why not? Also, shed some salary in the meantime and treat him like we did McGrady. Just release him once we get him.

Have the trade include a buyout.
