Kendall Marshall...just to start the season?

How about Kendall Marshall for just a training camp and maybe early season addition while Colision is serving his probable 16ish game suspension.

Utah just gave up a backup center, two second-round picks and cash to get Marshall from Philadelphia. Like, that just happened. Why in the world would the Jazz let us have him, after giving up assets to get him?

The Jazz actually did it for a salary dump.

Marshall is an unguaranteed contract and he is expected to be waived by the Jazz immediately.

As far as Marshall, he has one NBA level quality and that is his passing ability. He can't defend or shot and has an injury history.

I think the Kings would be better off signing Norris Cole or Douglas.

I really liked the idea of Kendall Marshall coming out into the draft, but his weaknesses coming into the NBA (athleticism, scoring, defense) became sticking points for him not getting minutes, albeit on losing teams with limited talent ahead of him. With the ACL injury, he might be done in the NBA...couldn't get minutes in Philly last year, and not too great when he did.

If Collison misses time, I'd take a 10-day contract on him to see if he's regained some lost strength/coordination over the summer, but not much more. Sad, as he's a fantastic passer, and will probably make a nice coach someday.
