Hornets trade Ariza and Okafor for Rashard Lewis

Interesting trade for Washington, I assume this means they're pretty much a lock to take Beal, assuming he's still on the board.

C Okafor
PF Nene
SF Ariza?
SG Beal
PG Wall

Not bad, but that would make Beal their only shooter in that lineup.

That's tough to say. Wall is still raw as a PG, they lack shooting, they have two centers in the frontcourt when they should be an up tempo team. There's less playing time for Seraphin, Booker, and Vesely now. That's a lot of money to commit for a rebuilding team.

I like it for the most part.

It seems like they are building that team the right way. Two young guys you HOPE will be stars (Wall and apparently Beal) surrounded buy a bunch of very capable vets. Not our 'over the hill vets'.... good veterans who are still in their prime.

And I think between Booker, Seraphin, Vesely, Singleton, and Jordan Crawford .. that's a solid, developing bench. Once Ariza and Okafor are gone in two years the hope would be that Vesely and Singleton will take over in those spots.

They are a fringe playoff team with this squad. If Wall and Beal develope like they should (Derrick Rose/Russ Westbrook for Wall, Eric Gordon for Beal) then they are right at, or around, contender status.

If we are not able to fill our SF hole via the draft I would be on the phone with Washington to see what it would take to bring Singleton over. He's definitely someone I'd love to have on the roster if we can't get a good veteran SF.

True. In the East you just never know. Miami, Boston, Chicago, Indiana, Philly. Those 5 are shoe-ins for the playoffs next year, IMO. After that, it's anyone's guess. NY is inconsistent. ATL probably is in range for 6-8 spot.

Either way, you're right when it comes to the way their developing their team/bench. Personally, I'm just not a fan of that small of a starting backcourt - I think that's the Kings fan in me :p

This highly suggests that MKG will be available at 5 for the Kings

A lot of teams seem to be falling out of love with MKG. Of course it could just all be smokescreen stuff, and a glue guy like him may not workout as well as offensive minded guys. Still, it makes you wonder. Not enough to pass on him mind you, but enough to want to see what he does in summer league and whatnot.
