Garnett

garnett is a free agent and he could just be what the kings need. A PF defensive presence next to cousins. He would bring a veteran presence and really could mentor DMC. I say sign him for 2 years. Only thing is i dont know if he would want to come here but it be worth trying.

what veteran can this team bring in then?

That's the big question. With the ownership proving themselves to be totally without honor, who would want to come here? Groucho Marx once remarked that he wouldn't want to join any club that would accept him as a member. That's kind of the situation the Kings are going to find themselves in - the only veterans willing to come here are probably those that we could use the least, or who have more baggage than Samsonite.

I actually thought about this weeks ago to myself but never bothered to start a thread about it because I know he would never ever come to Sacramento. But boy would he be perfect for this team. Can you imagine him getting on Reke for a late devensive rotation or Cousins for getting back on defense late or Thornton for getting beat on defense. It would be awesome.

I'm imagining Cousins throttling right now. :p

Premuably not a first ballot HOFer accustomed to competing for championships every year.

Lesser players trying to hang on mostly. 30-somethigns looking for one last payday, with limited suitors.

"Why thank you Brick!"

I would love to have Garnett, but the chances of him coming here are about the same as me parting the red sea. I'm about to walk out onto the beach and give it a try. I'll post the results later.....

well money talks but we all know the magoofs wont fork up the cash to pay him.

Nor is it worth brining him on for that amount. He would be here for a year maybe 2. This move may bring us closer to the playoffs then what? Garnett will retire. Will we still be in position to continue without that player...

Seriously? No. it would take a max contract to get KG to even consider coming to a franchise that has absolutely no chance of even making the playoffs

Yes, it would. It would be compelling drama, that's for sure.
