So how exactly can we keep our 1st round pick this year... what has to happen?
We keep our pick by keeping Corbin as the head coach.

I hear you, but Cousins is no LBJ. He WANTS a strong coach. We HAD a strong, demanding coach, who had the respect of the players. That is very hard to come by. It's Pop type stuff. It's a very special skill. That's what Cousins wants. He is a man of loyalty, not a control freak.
So I don't mean Cousins lobbying for players. I mean Cousins and Gay uniting to call out ownership on their dishonesty and calling for Malone to come back. That would be the bold move. Perhaps they have a players only meeting and get the team on board before going public. I would be supremely impressed.
And no, it wouldn't mean he's calling for a trade. It would mean he cares very much for this team, and this town, and wants to make good on his promise to bring the Kings back to success, but that he won't stand for incompetent and dishonest management.
Safer choices than to subject children to the current state of Kings basketball. If you're old farts with kids (I am - 6, 5 and 3) then you've likely seen it. As well as Frozen a hundred times.
Keep going the direction we are going and not only do we keep 1st rounder it might be 1st overallSo how exactly can we keep our 1st round pick this year... what has to happen?
Welcome to the boards. I don't think many of us have seen that movie. We're all old farts.

What if the children were misbehaving?Safer choices than to subject children to the current state of Kings basketball.
What if the children were misbehaving?
Please speak for yourself.
Tee hee hee...And why would I do that? Being I'm a grandMOTHER and all.
You'd have to proceed with caution and take into consideration long-term effects. What if the children were misbehaving?

Note for those not watching Nets broadcast:
Yet another set of announcers describing the firing of Malone with shock and disbelief. So far, EVERY opposing team's announcers have had the same unanimous, negative reaction as the fans have had here. So Vivek or PDA basically DOES think he's the smartest guy in the room. He must, when every single other basketball opinion is shock and disbelief.
I was hoping for some more Blazing Saddles; that worked out well the last time.To keep your sanity, the only useful theme going forward is going to be dark humor. Very dark humor. The movie, Blood Simple, comes to mind.
