No, I boarded up the Mo Currie house after her week 2 performance which I think gave me a point less than she gave you today. I had figured that with Beard out Mo might, oh, I dunno, blow up on people...but NOPE!....

I figured on Thursday that Kelly Miller *might* not be a good Sunday pick given that I got none of the gravy that Tamera Young had been giving people when I played her. (Thank you for picking up the slack Janel!) So I made the switch to Madame Russian Controversy and for a while that looked stupid, until she got hot in the 2nd half.

I think I have burned through nearly all of the viable Silver Stars right now. So naismith help me if I get stuck needing to play somebody on a day they and some other team I am also scraping the bottom of the roster barrel with are playing on a single game day. Riley might be the best choice I have left for them. I briefly toyed with the idea of taking a Spark today, but wanted to hold on to the ones I have a bit longer.

I'll see if that hurt me in a few hours.

She's the point guard THIS week...I ain't biting on that yet, Cooper will probably have gone back to Brown when they hit ARCO on Thurs....this will be like throwing a dart at the calendar to pick the day that Langhorne will get minutes in DC...

I "settled" for Hammon, which was my third choice for today - fourth, if you considered I started the week with Kelly Miller set to go tonight.

On the one hand...I should be happy that my intuition told me how dumb#@# that pick was before I got stuck with it. On the other hand, gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwd

I think I had what seemed like logical reasons for not playing either of them....but still...geeeeeeeeeeeeeezus..................

I can assure you, this will not have a happy ending this season...I know me and how my luck rolls....

lol...I've made my way through the league...the parkerers were out in full force (um, less one damnit)...DNP again reared her head....and unless something changes as I get through the final 8 teams in the league...a KHTKer has taken the station's first cup.

Week Eight Results

Musical theme for week 8, courtesy of Dido “Thank You” as we all had somebody or something to be thankful for the week it seemed like.

Must have been something in the air…it t’was a strange week it t’was. We had several players reap the benefits of great performances…week eight started with a big rookie day for mdme taking Tamera Young, our intrepid Monarchs play by play radio voice got a very good rookie night to start the week with another highly reliable rookie Candice Wiggins. All was right with the world…MamaBristow got the benefit of Sancho Lyttle’s big double double late in the week, 4play grabbed Crystal Langhorne for her career high day in both points and rebounds. Team McCarville was happy. The fountain flowed…and all was good.

Then unfortunately folks who were poised to make some noise got bit by people who did not suit up...Koz mistimed Cappie Pondexter's return, and Vickie Johnson and DeLisha Milton-Jones dashed the hopes of others. Earlier in the week (again) Erika DeSouza and Mwadi Mabika nipped some others. Then Sunday was met by the collective sighs of the Currie-ers


But the week again belong to Parker as she turned in her second highest fantasy output since her crazy 108 opening day as she lit the sky with 90 fantasy points on Sunday and sent Jason Ross to the top of the week 8 standings and the first cup for a KHTKer. .

As mentioned in the foreshadowing post, we had a whole lotta people under triple digits but none of that really matters when you have (a) Candace Parker still available and (b) Candace Parker available to play against Phoenix…that’s a recipe as we all knew for a bonanza. My intuition sure as heck knew that…too bad I ignored it…well that’s not true, I did listen to it for a hot second while she actually was my entered pick for Sunday…and I cleared it out and went Hammon. But enough…I will let that go. (suuuuure I will)

She finished with 124 fantasty points tonight...and we have a lucky Parkerer...

I might be able to compile a list not specifically of who still has her left, but maybe how many. I still have her (sigh, although not so much sigh, since she could go nuts again in a game :)) Fowles will eventually come back as well. This could get fun, no?

That was some game & it went into OT....I guess CP3 was trying to pad her fantasy points! Well lets just hope they are worn out when they step into Arco Thursday.

We had better done some soul searching today & that nice talk Coach B. had with players, lets hope the defense, the hustle, & the scoring were some main topics. Oh yeah & the pride.
