Week Seven Results
Our league had an interesting turn of events on Sunday, and our most popular player went by three initials…DNP…as seven people had someone who sat on the sidelines for the Detroit Shock, shoot, overwhelmingly Cheryl Ford tripped up players in our league by sitting out but someone also tapped Plenette Pierson, and well Saturday, Tina Thompson also was selected.
Musical theme courtesy of Michael Jackson…”You Are Not Alone” if you got Fordified or Piersoned? Plenty of others shared your pain.
Did it affect the weekly race? Not really unless you were hoping to make a move or something, but even that was unlikely since Supadupapimp slammed the door on anybody who had designs on winning the week. But it did muck up our top 10 and specifically our top 5.
But to step back a second, here’s how the week played out…Supa and Scott Marsh jumped all over the Betty Lennox train when she blew up in her overtime game against Connecticut (while I was hearting Asjha Jones). Kevin Sherrets had played a day earlier Essence Carson in HER overtime game and garnered a boatload of points, and thus was the top three heading into Saturday…
...Adding to her hearting Asjha Jones performance was NBH’s COMPLETELY hearting Matee Ajavon’s night because it sent her into third place for the week…while QueenBee was riding double barreled rookie goodness with Amber Holt’s numbers from then following that up with the double rookie points fountain that has been Nicky Anosike (unless I played her that is) which opened the door to the top spot.
The race was on to bring it to the house on Sunday....
....behind THE rookie performance for the week, Tamara Young's, Supa did just that. None of our top five going into Sunday was bitten by the DNP bug, so minor jostling behind Supa.
Our top 10 was affected…there was no Rdub mdme mind meld this week and fordification allowed the folks in hot pursuit of Rdub’s overall leaderboard perch got a lotta help and there is no a big chip taken out of the comfy lead (or as comfy a lead as one can have with this rookie class or the crazy overtime numbers veteran players have put up). But pockets throughout the standings also saw some gap closing.
