I like the idea of bringing him back, his offense is fun to watch, and he has playoff exp. His win percentage isnt bad at .452. We could bring him here for 2mil since he will still get around 2mil from washington. What do you guys think?

It never fails to amaze me with people's fascination with a career long losing coach, who barely could make the playoffs in the East, has a losing career record in the regular season as well as the playoffs, has never won 50 games even once, who's teams played aboslutely no defense whatsoever (perfect for us) and who routinely had all kinds of locker room problems. What is the attraction? Because he is a name we recognize? Because he has pretty eyes to replace Reggie? Is the attraction of assured mediocrity that amazing?

Eddie Jordan took teams that had Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison in their prime to 42 and 40 win seasons. In the East. Now, obviously that team isn't very good defensively, but he failed to get anything very productive out of Brendan Haywood, who he never actually seemed to realize was a decent defender (probably just looked at the ppg stats and thought he sucked), and just festered mediocrity.

He doesn't have a very impressive resume. He has experience but he really hasn't won many games in washington. Even when arenas was healthy washington wasn't very impressive. I think there will be better options this summer, and more than a couple.

What most have said here. Jordan's a good offensive coach but his record speaks for itself. And don't expect any defensive improvement...

However, I think the ideal fit is someone who knows how to teach and develop youngins.

I'd be down with Eddie Jordan also. At the same time I acknowledge his shortcomings on the defensive end. I think it's important to have a coach who can work with the FO, because Petrie is building a certain kind of team. No matter who you bring in, they'll have to work with the current team and whomever Petrie and the Maloofs take on.

The Wizards had some big name players, but I wouldn't' categorize them as a superior team to any of their peers. Butler was their best player, imo, and he is injury prone.

I still prefer we play the lottery for one more year though.

Right now, Jordan's my 2nd choice behind Flip. He's never coached defense, and really hasn't done anything impressive, but at this point I'm anti any non-established coaches (Thibodeau), as well as anti-Jeff Van Gundy (who would make this team even more unwatchable). That said, while Jordan is an "established coach," I worry that all that's been established is that he can't win.
