Donte Greene likely to start tonight...

Nighthawk1

Starter
Since Noci is hurt it seems like Donte finally gets a chance to show us what he has as a starter. I know I'm excited
Thoughts?
Got if off Sam Amick's twitter...

P.S. Where is our game thread for tonight?????????????????????? Piski, Venom, ryan?????

is he hurt or is this because the philly/boston/sac trade is going down and we're holding him out

Hip spur or something of that sort, I think it's a legit injury

I also think the trade talks fell through, don't think Boston wants Noci... but you know how internet reporters go

wow.. It's like every player who plays for kings always get injured... Garcia, Kevin, Casspi, and now Noc. Well good thing we have deep depth on wing.

I think this would be the cookie winner.

Otis Spunkmeyer chocolate chip and macadamia nut, please.

Pretty damn close call but the fact is when he plays within himself he can get a bunch of good looks. And he can convert. I like his game, he's just been very immature. If he gets it together, he is in a young T-Mac situation which could be great for this Kings team.

Donte Greene is what I call a soft scorer. This guy can score 30 points and we still won't win. Nocioni brings that Green doesn't. He brings toughness, tenacity, more heart and hustle. What Andres brings is what every team needs, and that converts into wins. I can't say the same about Donte. Now I'm not knocking the guy, I think he's a good scorer, and I'm not comparing the two. All I am saying is don't get too excited about Donte scoring so many points, we are not going to win with him as our starting sf. Now, off the bench, he can be a great asset.

One had nothing to do with the other in this particular game. In fact I'd say the only reason this game wasn't a 30 point blow out was Donte Greene.

Sorry about the thread. I'm actually a full time student at UCSC this year (GO SLUGS) and its hard to find time to do anything but schoolwork

Which makes one wonder if you have seen Donte since his rather radical reinvention. Its not the same player. He's attacking the hoop, he's posting up, he's playing defense, its not been soft.

Andres of course has always been hard nosed, but there are physical limits to what he can do offensively. Many of his best moments for us offensively are just shooting threes, which helps us but wouldn't normally be called "hard".
