Derrik Favors

Now that the Jazz drafted Kanter, they have a log jam of bigs. I wonder if that makes Favors tradable. Favors wouldn't cost too much to evaluate for a few years and would add a lot of frountcourt depth. What would it take to get him though? What do the Jazz need? Would Casspi and next year's pick be enough?

Log jam?

they have 4 bigs 2 are real young.

From what I've read in the Utah papers, they're not counting on getting Okur back. I do expect that they'll resign Fesenko. I also think they look at Favors as part of their future, so I doubt they would move him. Nice thought though..

Favors/Kanter is their frontcourt of the future. Milsap and Jefferson are on the block, though not necessarily this off-season since Favors and Kanter are both young and inexperienced right now.

They love Favors. They love him a lot. I listened to a bunch of David Locke's stuff in the lead up to the draft (he's the play-by-play guy for Utah) because I wanted to get a feel for what they would do in the draft. His basic position seems to be that the Utah Jazz right now are Derrick Favors, Gordon Hayward, and a bunch of spare parts.

I don't get it either - Jefferson and Harris and Millsap seem to be core-worthy players to me. But that appears to be the thinking in Salt Lake.

they gave up deron williams for him and the 1st pick essentially.. highly doubt they would put him on the block that fast.

They aren't likely to move Favors at this point. Even if they were to consider it, they aren't going to trade a young big with his talent level and upside for anything we would be willing to give up.

If they try to move a big it is more likely to be Millsap or Jefferson, and I don't really like either for us at this point unless we got them at a relative bargain.
