Watching CP3 tonight - I wished we won only 18 games too. Man, You get a player like this and You are set for at least a decade.

Still worked out for Atlanta. They blew that draft pick, but they still wound up with Bibby.

(cough)

Chris Paul for MVP. He has 35 points tonight.

Chris Paul is my favorite player in the NBA. Talk about taking over a game.

You know how when Brick does the post-game grades, he often mentions what a player has to do in order to get an A+ from him? (Usually involves having a quintuple-double, shooting 85% from the field, 75% from downtown, 110% from the line, no fouls, hitting the tying shot in regulation, hitting the game winning shot in overtime, proposing to your girlfriend, mowing the lawn, taking the trash out and milking the cow all at the same time, etc.) That's the type of game Chris Paul played, an A+ game, where he couldn't be stopped, he involved his teammates, and made the big shots, like the one at the end of the first quarter, to keep his team in the game.

This guy is only in his third year! Have I mentioned that he's my favorite player in the NBA?

Anyone watching the first quarter of game 2. Chris Paul is a freak. He can do no wrong. Already 8 assist (zero turn overs) and 3 for 3, hitting a running catch and fading right jumper before the shot clock expired end of the 1st.

this is so not even remotely the same team that came sleepwalking through Sacto a few weeks ago. They are playing nearly flawless, and Paul is just...well, he's why you go chasing theose #2 overall picks. I almost feel sorry for Dallas.

What the hell has gotten into Brandon Bass?

This is one of those cases where I think you sic Bonzi on him just to get somebody else who really loves to bang in there.

Man, this is bordering on a "gots 'ta go" situation... Never mind the Kidd trade: if the Mavericks lose this series, too, Cuban has to get rid of everybody.

I think - Mavs played better defense under Nelson

I would trade our whole roster por CP3 and then some

Yeah, trading for Kidd was a mistake. I don't think that Devon Harris would allow Paul to do this to him...

Its so much about matchups. Last year they run into Golden State, and Baron just destroyed Devon out there. Too big. Too strong. Too tough. A full grown man barreling right through the scrawny little kid. So Dallas learns its lesson and goes and gets an aging HOF PG with the size to contend with a guy like Baron, and who do they run into? Lightning quick waterbug Chris Paul, who proceeds to annihilate their bigger, stronger, slower Harris replacement.

And if this ends up being a 2nd first round exit for Dallas, they are probably done. In some ways a mirror image of our run -- wihtout the big injury that destroyed things. But the great team with the not-quite-as-great-as-the-true-legends PF, and then the heartbreaking losses to Miami and Golden State doing so much damage to their psyche that they were passed on by by younger squads.

^ Poor Dirk.

Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki, of Germany, sits on the bench near the end of the Mavericks New Orleans Hornets game in the first round of the NBA basketball playoffs series Tuesday, April 22, 2008, in New Orleans. The Hornets defeated the Mavericks 127-103 to take game two.

Especially Dirk, IMHO. And Mark Cuban, the guy who dumped Steve Nash, would be the one owner I could see kicking everybody to the curb and never looking back...

Feel sorry for Dallas? Not in this lifetime.

:)

If Dirk is on the block we have to make a run at him IMO.

chris Paul is the MVP. He does everything for this team. As great a year Kobe is having he doesn't need to be out there doing everything like Paul does. He has gasol and odom who can run the offense and create double teams ad mismatches which lead to open threes and cutters. Chris Paul is just incredible. He has turned into being my favorite player and that's saying something
