Can't they just slide Giannis or Parker there?Middleton out 7 months with a hamstring injury.......hey Bucks any interest in Gay?
Can't they just slide Giannis or Parker there?
The Bucks got Rashad Vaughan who @SG they have massive hopes for he struggled as a rookie (was brutal at times) but the kid has a stroke and could be a very decent player I think they would rather develop him than develop Ben.I agree that the Bucks don't necessarily need Gay and I don't see a deal that makes sense for us because either Monroe or Henson would have to be involved. So unless a third team is involved I don't see Rudy moving just yet.
But don't the Bucks play Middleton at SG a lot of the time? Maybe Mclemore for MCW/Tyler Ennis?

There are 3 way possibilities and I think losing Middleton could hasten up the process of trading Monroe since he's legit got no space to operate since the core guys the Bucks are building around are CURRENTLY not shooters in Parker/Giannis/Maker. This is all off course speculation on my part but I'm trying to figure out what teams can use Monroe and atm it's mainly maybe Portland/NOP/Dallas/Memphis (to replace aging Z-Bo)
Side Note: I have never heard someone being out 6 months+ from a hamstring I know guys in Australian Football who tore it completely off the bone and were back in 3-4months.
The league is trending away towards the Monroe/Okafor types of players. I wouldn't mind Monroe here at all. Would be a troubling fit on defense alongside Cousins, but the offensive value would certainly be there. I'm imagining a lot of good high-low post action from Cuz to Monroe.I don't think Portland is interested in Monroe. They seem to like the low maintenance, defensive center to get along with their ball dominant, shot happy perimeter guys. Plumlee gives them great playmaking and everything else they need from the center position. Ezeli is a great backup when healthy. Why try to fit in a low post scorer, who isn't great at running the floor and isn't the best rim protector? Lillard and McCollum aren't particularly good defenders. You need guys to cover their mistakes.
From the teams you mentioned the Pelicans make the most sense. Given AD's footspeed a frontcourt of him and Monroe looks pretty scary on paper. And if Ad goes down they have someone to keep the offense afloat down low. But this means, that the Pelicans don't opt for playing AD at center and trying to play a smallish, running style with Hill/Gee/Cunningham/Jones at PF. With all those combo forwards on the roster and with the best players outside of AD at the guard positions, I expect a lot of 3 guard lineups with AD at center. Still Monroe is a huge upgrade over any of their pretty crappy big guys. But if Gentry likes to run (), than he will be in a backup role, meaning the Pelicans will only offer very little value for him.
The Monroe situation is kinda sad. Such a rock solid player, but most teams simply go in a completely different direction and have no need for him.

We would play at a slower pace and surround both guys with good shooters. I'd do Gay straight up for Monroe. That offensive pairing reminds me of Gasol-Zbo a little bit.

There is a slight interest there in the MCW possibility, just because we've made noises of looking for a Doug Christie, and there are none at SG. But what if you found a long armed 6'6" PG with defense potential instead, moved him to SG, and taught him how to shoot?
Haha, sorry I meant the exact opposite. The league is trending away from bigs like Monroe and Okafor. The league is trending towards Monroe and Okafor? In this case I missed something.
Tall, agile bigs with floor spacing ability (Towns, Porzingis) - Ok I could see the reasoning behind that. But Monroe and Okafor?
Well, with this Koufos (semi)-news, what about a trade with the Cavs.
Koufos + Gay + Mc Lemore <> Shumpert + Love. The Cavs might need a true wing more than a stretch power forward along James (who plays more and more like a playmaking 4), but I don't know why they would mess their chemistry since they just won the ring.
Just a report that they are believed to be looking at deals involving KoufosWhat news?
There's no way Cleveland is doing that from a talent/value perspective let alone a chemistry perspective.Well, with this Koufos (semi)-news, what about a trade with the Cavs.

It's that teaching him how to shoot thing that bothers me. His shooting has been his problem from the start. Not saying it's not possible, but it's not as if others haven't been trying to do just that since he's been in the league. He's a little better shooter than Marcus Smart, I'll give you that.
Well thing is: Doug Christie was a lousy shooter. Till the end of his career he sucked. Ditto JKidd. I think lousy shooters largely remain lousy shooters. BUT, what I mean by "shoot" for our purposes is the same thing Doug did or Kidd did: develop a set 3pt shot. And that does seem to be possible with enough practice (another reason they have to do something with the 3pt shot -- the most powerful weapon in the game is available to basically any scrub, big man, or middle aged high school teacher who practices it enough). You develop a feet set three point shot and you can play SG and provide space in a roleplayer way. Don't actually care if he can ever shoot off the dribble. If we're looking for Doug Pt. II, we aren't looking for a scorer there anyway. Just a guy who can provide space, and then bring the rest of the Christie skill package -- creative passer, long armed defense, ability to bring it up).
A conversation that Doug Christie could have with him. That came out of Pepperdine thinking he was going to be a point guard in the NBA, events and that his skill-set translated into a much different career course. Nothing persuades more than the voice of experience. From that perspective, I tend to agree with you. Still a bit skeptical, but he wouldn't be a huge risk money wise, and he has a lot of Doug's skills. A good passer, but not really a PG. A good defender who knows how to play team defense. I guess my question to him would be, are yo willing to buy in, and give up this idea of being an NBA PG.
Kings/Celtics/Pelicans trade proposal
Kings outgoing:
Koufos (Boston
Gay (New Orleans)
Kings incoming:
Terry Rozier (boston)
Jerebko (boston)
T. Evans (nop)
Why for New Orleans. Their backcourt is decent right now even without the currently injured Evans. Gay and Davis could potentially play really well together with their combined skill and ability to play above the rim.
Why for Boston. They need a shot blocking presence around the paint and Koufos would fit that bill nicely. Sure they give up some talent but what they would net in return especially in terms of NEED I would think it would be worth it for them.
Why for Sac. Koufos while a good Center overall just doesn't compliment Cousins on the court he's essentially his backup. If Joeger can find a way to stagger the mins at the 5 & 4 we could be a better balanced team.
Jerebko would retain us some of our depth in the front court and Rozier (who I like as a prospect) could really pan out for us long term. IF and I mean IF we're in the hunt down the stretch Tyreke could return to action and help shore up the guards and bingo were back in business.
- Collison / Lawson / Farmar
- Afflalo / Mclemore / Temple / Richardson (d league)
- Casspi / Barnes
- WCS / Tolliver / Jerebko / Skal
- Dmc / Papa
Rozier, jerbko and T. Evans.I'm confused....who do the Kings get? I don't see them reflected (other than Jerebko)
Rozier, jerbko and T. Evans.
Rozier, jerbko and T. Evans.
Apparently Rozier is having a terrific camp for them, so getting him included might be a problem.
Rozier is going to be a big part of the Celtics going forward. I don't see them giving him up, probably not even for Rudy straight up. He's a two way PG and will surprise the casual NBA fan this season.
