Cousins left off All Star Roster

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/231734/Full-List-Of-NBA-All-Star-Reserves

Tony Parker, Damian Lillard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Dirk Nowitzki, James Harden, Chris Paul and Dwight Howard were named as Western Conference reserves.

Lance Stephenson, Kyle Lowry, Goran Dragic, Anthony Davis, DeMarcus cousins and Tim Duncan were not voted to the game.

Went with 6 guards in the West, leaving out both Cousins and Davis. Not much comfort in that, and kind of pathetic in a way that the two top young bigs in the league both get left off.

Now the hope has to be that when Kobe is replaced, it could be Boogie. Stern will be gone though, so it will be Silver who makes that call. He's supposed to be coming to Sacto next week, so be a good time for Boogie to put up 50. :)

They can't possibly stick with six guards and six F/Cs, can they? That's disappointing that the reserves include four guards (3 PGs) and only three frontcourt players. Oh well.

@Brick with DMC not making the team maybe we should do a DMC All NBA team thread? I honestly thought he had a way better shot making one of the 3 All NBA team's than he did the All-Star.

Boogie won the fan voting for biggest snub in the West! The nation has taken notice of this young mans play

Cousins vs Dirk tomorrow night if he comes back from the injury o_O

A positive I see as I mentioned before if Boogie were to get snubbed is that I think it gives him motivation this summer and next season and he comes back in 14-15 and literally destroys the league to the tune of roughly 26/12. Yes, all you coaches who snubbed Boogie, I think he takes it as an insult and forces you to learn your lesson the hard way, by turning your center into his female dog.

I also think he'll be in Turkey this summer which will only help with the mental side of the game, not only better learning how to lead but firmly planting himself among his peers at the top of the league.

Davis will get it, they need a hometown rep and his numbers aren't that far from Cousins. Hopefully this motivates Cousins even more.

Davis will be Kobe's replacement. He does deserve an All-Start spot but then again so does Cousins. NBA will want the Hornets to have a representative.

Cousins is the biggest snub in recent years. He is flat our dominant. People will use team record as a basis of the snub but take a look at those starters and reserves....half of them come from losing teams.

Damn. Not sure who you put Boogie in over though? Feel like everyone on that list is deserving and on much better teams

It's a simple excercise for me. Trade each of those guys teams with cuz. Would they be a winning team? If not and they wouldnt perform at a higher level, they aren't more deserving of an all star spot

That's fine, if Boogie is clearly superior to someone who made it. Can't really say that though. So that's where team record comes into play for me

Boogie was clearly superior to Dirk, not to mention he dominated every star center he played this year (even DPOY in Howard, then defensive beast in Hibbert, etc. etc.).

Are you referring to the FIBA World Cup? Because it'll be in Spain this year. :D

If Cousins does not get one of the replacement slots this will make next year much sweeter.

Next year Cousins will make the All Star game as the Kings begin to win and McLemore with be in the Rising Stars game as a Sophomore.

In the West? Starters is really just a popularity contest so nothing to be discussed there (Kevin Love). The rest of the West players are from teams over .500.

Meanwhile Joe Johnson made the East All-Star team averaging 15/3/3 on a sub .500 team
Plenty of gross selections on that East team like DeRozan over teammate Lowry. Paul Milsap getting in as well averaging his average numbers that don't jump out at you as All Star.

Even if you take out Dirk, Davis is probably more deserving. He's had a great year for himself. Don't let age fool you.. Dirk has been playing very very well this year. Don't worry, if Cuz continues his performance onto next year, he'll be in it for sure.

All NBA Team >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>All Star
Memphis is on a tear, and Gasol looks like DPOY once again (he's the only guy, who stopped Cousins consistently this year), Hibbert is a major cog in top Indiana team, and Howard will get in on reputation. Just like Cousins is 13th man on 12-man All Star roster, he will be 4th center on All-NBA lists. It's still a possibility if Kings go on a tear, once Boogie returns: something like 20-14 to finish the season would help a lot.

We'll see. 23-12 is awful hard to leave off for a 14-7 guy who misses 20 games, and all NBA teams have never had the "winning team" bias built in, or any "have to recognize such and such team" thing.

Cousins > Davis this year. Don't believe the hype. I've watched both guys play. Davis is not a goto guy yet, and for all the fancy defensive numbers, he's not making them a good defensive team. That's not writing off his career. It is noting that right now he's not as forceful as his stats suggest. Blake's a bit that way too. Love is hard to figure, such big numbers, but such an odd game. Howard is just a drab limited offensive player. Aldridge is much closer to a goto guy, but he's a jumpshooter. Ditto Dirk. And then there's Cuz. I think the last 3 are the only true throw it to them and let them create goto guys of the bunch.
