Abdur-Rahim Inactive For Kings With Sore Right Knee

G-League
MINNEAPOLIS -- Sacramento Kings forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim was inactive for Wednesday's game at Minnesota because of a sore right knee.
Abdur-Rahim, who has started 23 games this season and is fourth on the team in scoring with 10.2 points per game, played 19 minutes in Monday's loss at Memphis.
The 11-year veteran has had knee problems in the past, but until Wednesday he had played in all but one of Sacramento's games this season.

I hope he gets back soon....

I'm surprised the "conspiracy theorists" haven't jumped on this already as a first indication that veterans will soon be dropping like flies so that we're reduced to playing only the youngsters...

;)

Maybe NJ was right after all? They said his knee would be a problem later on in his career so they wouldn't sign him. Now he's having knee problems. Surprise surprise:(

It's just been one game. No need to add his knee to our list of reasons to panic.

Wow. I cannot believe the galloping outbreak of "Chicken Little" syndrome that seems to be infecting our board recently.

He had a sore knee. He may need to have it drained. He's expected to play Saturday against the Nuggets.

Not that big a deal unless it becomes recurring.

I think it's a legit concern. Not saying that it will become a problem for sure but there were warning signs before we signed him. Hopefully it doesn't become recurring though.

It is his right knee that he has had problems wth in the past?

Hope it's nothing big and Julius is back in action soon.

I think it goes to show how much the team "needs" him and how much he feels "needed" rather than an indication of any true malady.

Rahim is known as someone who doesn't miss games. His sitting out can't mean anything really good, I wouldn't think.

Hopefully it is a move for the team. If anyone on the entire King's roster is a mismatch to the rest of the team, it's Shareef.

So wait you think he asked for the trade? Has Reef ever done this before?

BTW I still think it's an injury with his knee. He has looked bad ever since the 2nd half of that Toronto game. Wonder if he injured it there.

Reef has asked for a trade before in his Portland days.

That said I sincerely doubt that's the issue here. He has looked on and off sluggish for much of the season. Lingering knee soreness might explain some of that lack of explosion. And yes, it is a little interesting that that was what the Nets were worried about when they backed out. Sounded ridiculous when they did it, but maybe the wear and tear is aging Reef ahead of his chronological time.

Oh, I think there is no question he's asked for a trade.

I don't think he's sitting out on account of this. I think he's sitting out because of an injury - but he's not fighting the injury like he has in the past.

I don't doubt that if Sacramento was giving him touches and we were winning, he'd have played. I just don't think he feels the compulsion to go out and fight through this with the way things are.

Of course, that's my take on it and I'm just feeding my thoughts. Could be far from the truth.

Whether he plays or not it won't make much of a difference, and that's the whole problem. Of course if he does end up getting moved some will say he was just misused by the Kings, yeah them and every other team he's ever played on, just add the Kings to the list. 5 rebs a game still? ... what a joke. Reef has been an utter disapointment to me, inconsistant inside, inconistant on D, unable to rebound at all(Peja put him to shame)... unable to even beat out KT for the starting position. We have a Huge gaping hole at the 4... still... ugh. Don't get me wrong, it's just one of a million personel problems this team has at this point.

Petries on fire, these guys really mesh.
