2019 NBA Draft thread

Yea Bol Bol aside, this is a poor, poor pick. Obviously it's never a fact he's going to suck, but I have very little hope in this guy.

And why would you have a lot of hope in the 40th pick in a weak draft? I can pretty much guarantee that pick isn't gonna make much difference in how the Kings perform next season. How many second round players are even in the league after a year or two/

I give up...

It’s one thing to miss on a pick, it’s another to take a flyer on someone no one else would have drafted at a position you don’t need!

And it's another thing to pick someone that doesn't have much of a shot to do anything for your team considering the other players on the team. If the Kings are determined to pick someone they worked out that people will be scratching their heads over I'm hoping Jordan Caroline is the player they take at 47. At least he has a shot to do something for the team.

Marvin looks like a stud. (Not an obvious pick because everyone and their mom thought we were going with Luka)
Harry looks like he could be an absolute steal at 20.
Willie is a rotation player.

It was obvious to me. You picked between Bagely or Luka. They did that. And Willie was a rotation player that was still picked way higher than he should have been. Again he was considered a reach.

You're not wrong. But why not just take a swing at Bol if this pick isn't going to amount to anything?

Bol - Could be great or out of the league
James - Will be out of the league

We currently have no small forwards on the roster. So we pick a shooting guard other teams aren’t even considering

I would have taken Bol Bol at 40 risks be damned. But it is what it is.

2nd round is a lot of guesswork and who knows maybe we wanted more scoring off the bench.

We likely could have signed James as an UDFA, or at 47/60. People can disagree with passing on Bol's talent at 40, which I'm definitely going to do.

I think it was a poor move by Vlade. No overreaction, it's a second rounder. But I still hate it.

It also speaks to value evaluation. It's one thing to pick someone you like but for goodness sakes, take a trip outside of the bubble. That bubble has done you wrong before.
