I thought we allready changed 2/5

I dont think anyone here is a bandwagon fan. Nobody really jumps on a teams bandwagon unless they win.HndsmCelt said:Or, we could trade some band wagon fans for an order of Garlic fries and cold drink.

I dont know. Those Hawks seem to be a force lately. Oh, wait. Thats just against the Lakers.SacTownKid said:Don't worry bro, when the Kings start killing the Hornets and the Hawks we'll all jump back on.
Bricklayer said:No, but this is actually a larger issue that's been going on for some time. That IS wwithout question our great weakness and everyone knows it. It is also, unfortunately a weakness that no NBA champion that I am aware of has ever had. You just don't win NBA titles if you can't board and you can't stop people. The only real question is "can this crew"? No real evidence that the answer is yed unfortunately.

SacTownKid said:Dang thats right! We only play them three times this year, well that does it, see ya later, I'm moving to San Antonio!
Wait for me! You think SA has room on their bandwagon?SacTownKid said:Dang thats right! We only play them three times this year, well that does it, see ya later, I'm moving to San Antonio!
love_them_kings said:I agree that rebounding and defense has to be addressed, but I don't know that a one player trade is going to fix that. I think it's an attitude & an emphasis that has to come from somewhere? It seems like we do play better defense during the playoffs. Granted, we haven't been totally successful, but we haven't been completely embarrassed the way we would be if we just weren't capable of it. IMHO we can rebound and play D if we want to, we see glimpses of it here & there. But we obviously need to do it consistently, and soon rather than later.
I just can't get too worried about our regular season record against these teams, especially because (for the most part) they are close games that could go either way. I think the team needs some work, but I don't think a trade is the answer.
I am so glad you said this. So true!!!Bricklayer said:You're right, and that could go either way. Geoff is absolutely right in valuing stability -- a major component of our consistent success over the years is the stability and familiarity of our core players. Gives us a big edge. Furthermore, I can't recall any team making mutiple moves midseason and seriously retooling and then going on to win it all.
But that said, we have several weaknesses that are just GLARING. Not subtle. Not hidden or sneaky or something you can equivocate about. But just glaring and perfectly obviosu to the whole world. And really, in most of our losses, those weaknesses are exactly why we go down. Its such an obvious situation that its hard to imagine any good GM not seriously looking at ways to correct it.

My honest opinion: After the game, I was wondering seriously if we need another trade (Darius, OTag, or both for some kind of pure athletic rebounder/defender), but now that I've thought about it, we don't really have any problems some boxing out can't fix. It doesn't matter how high you can jump or how strong you are if you don't put your butt into your man (if that makes you smirk you are immature). The team just has to make a committment to rebounding; every player should act like every missed shot is a pass to them. Barnes and Evans do that, and it's great to see. I'd really like to see the big guys take the lead though, since that'll make the most difference.
