We may need another trade.

A 3 who could rebound would change things drastically for us. Look at Barnes' numbers when he took over for Pedja. Last night it felt like it was their 3 bigs versus our 2 bigs on the boards. I think Peirce would change that.

As an aside, Piksi, what NBA players would you trade one for one for Pedja (dis-regard salaries)?

welp, since im still bored went over to Realgm to check on it

We could trace Peja, Bobby, and Darius to the Celts for Pierce
We could trade Webber and Martin to Utah for Boozer, Eisley, and Jarron Collins

These trades would work salary wise. I threw KMart into the Jazz deal to try to sweeten that pot for them. I still dont think Webb and a promising young player are enough to make the Jazz bite. Im certain Ainge would trade Pierce for Darius Peja and Bobby though.

The trade would give us a starting five of Boozer, Pierce, Miller, Bibby, and Mobely. Evans, Collins, and Eisley would probably be the first guys off the bench. I think its an interesting starting five. You have Miller at the high post, Boozer at the low post, Pierce slashing, Bibby and Mobely gunning. I think it makes you tougher defensively as well.

I don't think its remotely feasable, and Im not sure I could do it, for sentimentality sake.

Like I said... Im exceedingly bored so don't flame me, I don't really want a trade. Im just rolling with the thread.

There's an old saying in sports trading that seems appropriate with what we've been discussing, "you've got to give quality to get quality" (unless you're GP...LOL!). The trade I proposed that is approved by Realgm.com statistically gives no real advantage to either team but rather addresses fundamental problems both have. And while it may seem "over the top" at this point in time it addresses long term problems for both. I am a Kings fan moreso than a fan of any particular player. To me, since I don't know them, they're just chess pieces to be manuevered to the team's advantage. My allegiance to them is a fleeting as their's is to me when they achieve valhalla and become unrestricted free agents. I want to be a Kings fan that wins a championship and I don't care if it takes Karl Malone to do it (oops, did I just say that out loud?). Sometimes you have to take a long range view and be willing to sacrifice a season that is fast becoming unsalvageable and put pieces together that will mesh next year.

Alright, enough with the melodrama. Do you even know what freedom of speech means? We're free to disagree and tell you so.

My honest opinion: After the game, I was wondering seriously if we need another trade (Darius, OTag, or both for some kind of pure athletic rebounder/defender), but now that I've thought about it, we don't really have any problems some boxing out can't fix. It doesn't matter how high you can jump or how strong you are if you don't put your butt into your man (if that makes you smirk you are immature). The team just has to make a committment to rebounding; every player should act like every missed shot is a pass to them. Barnes and Evans do that, and it's great to see. I'd really like to see the big guys take the lead though, since that'll make the most difference.

I wasnt talking about the disagreement. The Mod deleted a thread about trade ideas.

I do not think that the Kings are a trade away from beating the top teams.

The Kings have all the pieces that they need to win against the top teams. The fact is that one player being brought in is not going to stop the team from collectively blowing games. When you look back at the games that we have lost to the top teams it is not one players effort ( or lack of effort )that has lost the game, it is a collection of all of the players not mentally being focused enough to finish the game.
Where is the proof. The numbers from this season tell otherwise. Of course knowing what our players can do is one thing, and I agree that they are playing below their best but I have only seen it twice out of ten times thusfar.

ok, last one I promise

Kings Trade:

Chris Webber
Peja
Darius Songaila
Bobby Jackson

Kings Receive
Marcus Camby
Kenyon Martin
Nene
Carmello Anthony

Im sorry I just cant stop the crazy trade idea game - this is what happens when im stuck home sick

we need a monster on the boards like seattle has with reggie evans!
yes you're right..for me it seems that Seattle is some sort of copying the Detroit Pistons...Pistons don't have much of a low post threat (except at times RWallace) but had big men down low to defend and bang bodies with the likes of Shaq,Duncan,Garnett,JOneil...and they're the NBA champs..with Billups and Rip...now with the Sonics they have Ridnour/Daniels, Ray Allen and Lewis and had a crop of big guys rotating to bang-up opponent's big men...Sonics has beaten the top and elite teams in the NBA and looks like they're not just flukes...Pippen even projected Sonics to come out the West because they have all the tools to make it. last year they're a mediocre team and with that same team they're division leader at 10.5 games ahead of the Wolves...it was just their attitude and belief in each other that they can do it..and it turned out well for them...

i can't tell if the Kings still need a trade, change in coaching, or attitude towards the game....

Some people have the right idea about a trade scenario. In order for any trade to work on this team, the core group has to be altered. And we do not need another big behing Miller that will get rebounds, we have Ostertag, Darius, and Bradley. That leaves Peja.

Sacramento trades:
SF Peja Stojakovic
(20.4 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 39.2 minutes)

Sacramento receives:

SF Luol Deng
(12.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.4 apg in 28.0 minutes)
PF Tyson Chandler (7.9 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 0.8 apg in 27.4 minutes)

Change in team outlook:
+0.1 ppg, +10.6 rpg, and +1.3 apg.

Chicago trades:

SF Luol Deng
(12.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.4 apg in 28.0 minutes)
PF Tyson Chandler (7.9 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 0.8 apg in 27.4 minutes)

Chicago receives:

SF Peja Stojakovic
(20.4 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 39.2 minutes)

Change in team outlook:
-0.1 ppg, -10.6 rpg, and -1.3 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

I once mentioned this before and the more I think about it the more I like it. We get an up and coming star in Deng, and deepen our bench with a monster rebounder that is so athletic he can play the 3-5 spots in Chandler.

Sacramento trades:

PF Darius Songaila (6.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 19.7 minutes)
SG Kevin Martin (3.0 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 11.1 minutes)

Sacramento receives:

SF Kedrick Brown (1.5 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.5 apg in 7.3 minutes)
C Samuel Dalembert (6.8 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 0.5 apg in 23.6 minutes)

Change in team outlook: -1.2 ppg, +2.7 rpg, and -0.7 apg.

Philadelphia trades:

SF Kedrick Brown (1.5 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.5 apg in 7.3 minutes)
C Samuel Dalembert (6.8 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 0.5 apg in 23.6 minutes)

Philadelphia receives:

PF Darius Songaila (6.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 19.7 minutes)
SG Kevin Martin (3.0 ppg, 1.6 rpg, 0.6 apg in 11.1 minutes)

Change in team outlook: +1.2 ppg, -2.7 rpg, and +0.7 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

You can exchange Matt Barnes/Mo Evans (or Bradley) for Kevin. You lose a potential big game player in Kevin, but you gain a potential big man in Dalembert. Songaila is what he is, IMO. He'll be good, but he is a replacable piece.

Brown isn't very good (yet, at least) and is thrown just a throw in. Hoopshype says he's a good defender and rebounder, but has a bad offensive game. Also a monster dunker.

Where will these guys fit in??? Like was mentioned before Dalembert would not be in at the most crucial times. A starter change is the only way to make a real difference.

Not only crunch time matters. Say if Dalembert grabs three offensive rebounds, blocks a shot, and prevents o-rebounds during the course of a game, we may be up 10, instead of only 4 in crunch time.

I would love to get Dalembert but all the talk says 76er's are not moving him. Probably a good idea too. I think the deal with Chicago would help greatly and Petrie may just be able to get it done. It was reported all summer Chicago was interested in Peja, and Skiles is Pejas old coach.

Oh, I wasnt aware that Dalembert was staying...Wasne he on the block earlier this year, though?

And if the Kings could ANY way get Tyson Chandler. I'm down. The kid can rebound like a madman, and he's only 22!

Yeah the head guy in Philly says there is no way they'll move Sam. Could be a ploy but I don't think so. The kid has too much of an upside.

this guy has the right idea.

I love Luol Deng ever since I saw his first game against the Kings. I had a hope somehow the Kings could grab him before he started erupting for 30 point games like he did the other day. Now he's actually worth something. =/

We don't have any good trade bait to offer up in exchange for a suitable player as far as I see it. I wonder what kind of shape Zo is in.

Or we can wait it out a year and sign Swift as a free agent to be our 3rd big man. That would be a huge, and we're going to have a lot of flexibility with Mobley, Evans, Barnes all free agents and BoJax and Songaila with options (although DSong's is a player option).

On his position - NONE

Overall - I could think of several - Dirk, Lebron, Nash, Kidd, TD, Amare, Shaq, Kobe, KG, Wade, Richardson, probably about 10-20 more but I can not think of names.
Having a guy who can be very effective without dominating the ball is commodity. We have seen last season what Pedja can do if he is the first option in the offense. He has improved defensively and if he had a coach who would yell more at his lazy behind - he might even rebound more. He can shoot a little too.
He would fit with so many teams - but I would love to see him being coached by Sloan or Pop because they are like Pesic (ex national coach). Pedja was the best player on the best team in 2 tournaments in the row. He got yelled at so many times that it made him play better.

How about this trade. It fills the sf spot with a better rebounder who plays defense and is younger and more athletic plus you get a very big athletic big man that can rebound. Rip me if you will.

Sacramento trades: SF Peja Stojakovic(20.4 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 39.2 minutes) Sacramento receives: PF Tyson Chandler(7.9 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 0.8 apg in 27.4 minutes) SF Luol Deng(12.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.4 apg in 28.0 minutes) Change in team outlook: +0.1 ppg, +10.6 rpg, and +1.3 apg.
Chicago trades: PF Tyson Chandler(7.9 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 0.8 apg in 27.4 minutes) SF Luol Deng(12.6 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 2.4 apg in 28.0 minutes) Chicago receives: SF Peja Stojakovic(20.4 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.9 apg in 39.2 minutes) Change in team outlook: -0.1 ppg, -10.6 rpg, and -1.3 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED

Due to Sacramento and Chicago being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Sacramento and Chicago had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

ths sad thing is that I don't think Chicago would do that anymore. Sounded ridiculous in OUR favor at the beginning of the year (when I think Sam Smith was suggesting something similar). Now kinda the opposite. besides kids wonl't really help you win this year.

Wrong. They could.
