So, now that Bricklayer has added a few more rounds, I feel the need to add a writer/producer. Elijah Wood haggled me for days, until I finally came around to this choice. He will add style and substance to the project, adding his artistic expertise and stunning, original film making visuals. Working alongside Robert Zemeckis, these two will create a visual world the likes of which has never been seen on film. I'm thinking for the sake of balance and not having peole assign 10 roles to a person probably just pick one of those roles?
I'm open to argument on that, but that would seem consistent with the no actor/director combo rule.

He's already proven to be able to do both these roles (see 300/Sin City). Writing and producing isn't nearly as intensive a job title as directing. I'm only taking one person here, so I don't see why there is a conflict...
Edit: Since we are adding more rules here by adding 4 additional rounds mid-stream (and the no director can act rule isn't in the rules heading anyway), whose to say that the director cannot also be an actor, or at least have a cameo? I bet Tarantino would like to have a role in his western, and Mel Brooks is chomping at the bit to sing in his musical!

No, no director actors for this practical reason: once somebody selects somebody as an actor or director, they go off the board. Nobody else can take them. So if you allowed actor/directors then somebody could just take Clint Eastwood the Director in rnd 1, and have him in the pocket as a free nobody else can take him actor to be thrown in at the end.
So single roles on that front.

Unless there's something I missed, adding the four rounds didn't change the rules in any significant way.
Brick did rule out the possibility of having someone pull double duty on a movie when the question was raised earlier, even though it may not have been subsequently added to the first post. Seems way too late in the game to change that, though. I don't know about anyone else, but it would have drastically altered my strategy to this point. I passed people up in the early rounds that are no longer available.

But if you select the director, why is he incapable of acting in the movie he is directing? It has happened a lot in the history of movies, often to great effect. Look at Tarantino, Mel Brooks, Kevin Costner (Dances with Wolves), Mel in Braveheart, etc. I can see if other people want to use your director as an actor in their movie, that he would be off limits, but if he's already on your set anyway, why can't he act in the scene (especially in a limited role)?

That's precisely the problem -- nobody else can use him, so you are getting a free unchallenged actor out of it. If you have to use a separate pick on him as an actor, that still means that you have basically reserved him as an actor that only you can use and that you get to pick up automatically for free in the final round. And if you don't have to use a pick on him at all, then you just flat out get an extra actor over everybody else, which is not fair either. So simple solution -- no double dipping.
