We've been busting our a$$es here at work for most of Dec, Jan, and Feb (March let up a bit) with many of our staff folks out or gone and the rest of us doing most of everything.

Today the VP shut our office down and took us out to a quick lunch and bowling for a couple hours.

Granted, in the grand scheme of things that's not really all that much, but we all had fun. The three of us in my car stopped at 7-11 for Slurpees on the way back to the office.

Very nice gesture and we all had a good time.

Yeah, we all get along pretty well. He was actually promoted to VP when our VP left; he was a geologist at the same level as me (Project Manager) when I was hired here. He is definitely more VP material than I am, as I'm much happier being an engineer than upper level manager.

I had to sell my soul to do it (joined my nemesis's team after mine chose not to come back), but I finally won a bowling trophy and another coveted red shirt from my league (I also have one from a kickball championship 2 years ago).

I have some good news...

I had surgery on February 11th, and received a Lap-Band. I have lost 32 pounds since. I am working hard to reach my goals.

I let bad health take over my life for too long, and now I am on the fast track to a better me.

Cheers.

WAY TO GO!!!!

Thank you Prophetess, kennadog and 6th.

It did take all my courage to do this. It's not easy either, you still have to put in hours of vigorous exercise and choose healthy meals. I've never felt better in my whole life.

Well, I'll come check in with you guys later. Take care!

I'm headed "home" (to Illinois) to see my mom next weekend (and having a week's vacation). While I call her every Sunday, it's been a year since I last saw her. I like going to see her for Mother's Day.

Woohoo, Proph, WTG!!!! :D

Having lost considerable weight myself, I know what discipline it takes. It's worth it, tho. :D I just started back on a diet to lose more, myself.

Congrats pdx!

While we're on the subject of babies, my cousin and her husband are just back from Vietnam where they adopted a little baby girl. They got home yesterday and I went to visit them this evening. She is so cute and seems to be right at home!

:D:D:DI became an auntie for the 4th time on Sunday at 3:58pm.
My nephew: Jason was 8lbs 14oz, 22" long, full head of black hair, healthy lungs, long toes and fingers.

Wow, that's quite an honor, Ryan! Congrats to your dad and his family.

Also, double congrats to Proph.

Congrats to Dime Dropper on the new little cousin.

Thanks KD!

Little update for anyone that's interested (don't know where else to put it). Some of you know I'm going on a trip to the US. Well, I'm going on Monday! I'm very excited, always wanted to go. Our first stop is Selinsgrove, PA. We play a few games, then move on to Hun prep school in Princeton NJ. More games, then on to Yardley, PA. Same story. That's it in a nutshell, although we'll be doing alot more activities in between such as we're going to Great Adventure in NJ on the 19th. I'm not sure if I'll be brave enough to go on all the coasters but we'll see! :D

I did say previously that we're supposed to be meeting Jason Thompson (this before he was drafted by us). My coach still isn't sure if he'll be able to meet us. I'm not getting my hopes up as it seems likely that he'll be too busy with the Kings to come and see us when we visit Rider. There's still some chance but I'll prepare for the worst. We will definitely be visiting Rider University and meeting Tommy Dempsey. There is a camp going on at Rider when we're there so I'm not sure if we're taking part or not.

We're also going to visit Penn. State University so that should be good fun also. Apart from this the host families we're staying with have some activities organised for us, so all in all it's shaping up to be a very fun trip. It's a great opportunity to play against better players etc. Our coach has been taking teams over the last six or seven years and they've always had a great time. A couple years ago one of the guys got offered a scholarship at a college in the US, but he didn't take it as he had gotten his course organised over here.

It's long news, but to me it's very good! :D

Hopefully I'll have some news (and if we meet Thompson, some pics :)) for everyone when we get back!
