If Hibbert or Hawes are there at #10, I think we take them. Maybe. Geoff doesn;t like drafting anyone taller than he is.
In any case, the very last thing we need is a SF or OG. So anything else. I am not really sold on Conley -- he's kind of faddish. On the other hand, Law seems liek limited upside (althought there is something about his size and the way he moves that reminds me of Rod Strickland -playmaking).
Biggest thing I would be looking for, and that again is something that Geoff has never shown any proclivity for, would be trading to move up a few spots. Everybody loves bigs, but if you see a franchise a few ahead of you who might have more need of a SF or PG, maybe you can swing a deal with them, our #10 and candy to get up to #7 for instance and maybe hope Jianlin is still there. Don't see anyway now (barring the miracle bounce of the ping pong ball) to get up or trade up into Oden/Durant/Wright/Horford territory, but if we threw in some candy to a team like Portland, who has their bigs in place most likely, maybe we could swap into the spot we need. And in that case that "candy" is essentially the cost for a victory like today. An extra pick, a Quincy Douby, whatever. Burned to make up for one afternoon of stupidity.
This place is going to blow up if/when Geoff drafts a guard. lol

I sincerely, sincerely hope that somebody at Kings offices kicks Geoff's *** that very afternoon if that happens. Anybody got Ron's phone number? Free beer and pizza!![]()
I would pick Hawes. Hawes is very advanced and is going to be a Big Z type player in this league, (I'm going out on a limb here!).
Besides, Hawes is underrated defensively. Did he not lead his conference in BPG?

Hawes isn't bad. He can be an animal underneath the basket. He's got a nice jump-hook. We could do worse. I just don't know how much upside he really has. Best guess is that Petrie goes outside the USA for the pick though.
I doubt Petrie goes for a point guard. I haven't seen one that blows my socks off.
Petrie's never traded up in the draft, so I'm not holding my breath on that one.
If Hibbert is there it is a NO-BRAINER. I would take Hibbert as the Kings as high as 6. The guy is a defensive big man- a legitimate center with size. His offensive game is not there yet, but he is a defensive stud. You could play him alongside Miller- he would erase his defensive mistakes- and the offense could still run through Brad.
Don't get me wrong- I would rather have Oden- but Hibbert is a very nice consolation.
By the wya- he played the final 13 minutes of the UNC elite 8 game with 4 fouls and never fouled out- while blocking 3 shots in that time period- IMPRESSIVE...
A lot of people are going to hate this but Portland probably gets the 6th pick. I would do a Bibby+our pick(if we wind up 10 or 11) for #6+Jamaal Magloire S&Ted to a 10 million dollar/one year contract.
By the way, when did Hibbert's value drop so much? Just after the NCAA tournament I saw him projected around 6 or higher. Now we're talking about getting him at 10?
Did he get embarrassed in a pick-up game I don't know about?
Thing is, assuming Oden comes out, that means:
Oden
Durant
Wright
Horford
likely 1-4
leaving
Noah
Jianlin
Hibbert
Hawes
and that's 8 guys right there. If we are #10 we are screwed as far as having our pick of the litter, but all we need is one or two teams to reach on a Brewer or Julian Wright or somesuch and we could/should have at least one of those bigs listed above fall to us. Not sure who, and maybe every team jsut takes its big and goes home leaving us to sift through the leftover SFs and such, but its not out of line to think that somebody will slip a few slots and be there for us. Just so many available this year.
