[Game] Sacramento Kings @ Boston Celtics, 2/7/14 4:30 PST, 7:30 EST

31 pts and 16 rbds on a lazy day for Cuz.

We say this too much...... "20 and 14 in a "bad game" for Cousins" or whatever the case may be. He puts up gaudy numbers and I love the dude but he's got to get over the hump of playing losing basketball IMO. More Aldridge and Dirk, less Love. We need to see more of the little things Boogie!

Yeah he chucked but only because the rest of the team were playing like zombies. He actually started the game playing conservative and started looking for his shot more when it was obvious the rest of the team was laying an egg. In terms of effort, he's the only one i saw on the team playing with it tonight(including Cousins).

So it is OK he is crappy because the rest of the team is crappy? All that ends up meaning is that IT is crappy. He has not been a shooting star for a long time.

Wow Malone just said 10-0 run to start the 2nd and 18-4 to start the 4th. What made him think that lineup was ever going to work?

He literally plays like a boy among men out there. Despite the fact that he can run and jump with the best, the fact that he is not very strong and doesn't carry much mass in his body, really hurts his play against NBA players

We're also just not a good team for guys who are catch and shoot players. The guy was projected to be Ray-Allen like ... well Ray Allen doesn't get open for looks if his team doesn't run a good offense setting screens to get him those looks. Jimmer found Ben curling one time for a good look and that was it. We're notorious for not setting good screens and Malone, as much as I love him, really hasn't shown any offensive genius in terms of his coaching. That's fine with me, but it's bad for a player like Ben. Westphal, as much as we love to bag on him, had the team running some pretty good offensive sets the year we drafted Cousins - e.g. Beno backcuts and getting the ball from Cousins, or the alleyoop plays to Jermaine Taylor.

He seems to get over the losing hump when Gay is on the floor. Are you really expecting one player with no help to win?

He had a +7 on the +/- tonight. He can't really help it when the rest of the team is out there throwing the game down the toilet when he is on the bench......

Interesting insight from Malone at the end of his interview, when asked about the starting lineup. He said initially he was going to start Ben, but that he's "always looking out for the rookie and waiting to put him in a position to succeed."

His view has certainly changed it sounds like, from when he thrust him into the starting lineup

Hate to say this, but I wouldn't call throwing Ben out with Jimmer, Acy, DWill and Landry, putting him in a position to succeed... Same goes for Jimmer. Just silly to play shooters with no inside presence, good screeners or any big capable of being a threat in pnr/pop situations

I agree. Malone said he didn't want to start him matched up against their bigger player in Wallace or Green, who they started

The Hustlin' Huskie shot 23 times and scored 24. He may hustle but his judgment is bad. IT is not improving. He looks good with Gay and Cuz are on the court with him but then I might look good in that situation. He falls apart under pressure and as much as he hustles, I want someone who does something more useful. He is not a star no matter what anyone says. Most of our team are not stars but I think they know that. It hasn't gotten through to IT. I was rooting for him early on in the game as he was shooting in the flow of the game and then he began to force shots. And then there's the end of the quarter crap. Why pass to someone with a second or two on the clock. He is unaware of the game situation and what his team mates are doing.

Maybe that's too much but I am sick of him.

I would like to see some more players go before the deadline. Maybe even include some draft picks with the luck we've been having so far with them..

IT didn't shoot well, but IT was the LEAST of our problem TONIGHT. I'm done.

The only reason it looks like he cared is because he loves going all hero ball ANYWAY. Yeah guy takes lots of shots, makes terrible passes and doesn't run the offense well at all, but because he scores a few and then takes it on himself to try and score more he cares so much. Oh that and he was a douche to Bayless, got pushed and then wanted to fight. Wow he cares so much, so much heart this guy!

He stems to get over the losing hump when Gay is on the floor. Are you really expecting one player with no help to win?

I get that, but it frustrates me to see him not doing the little things that I think could have been the difference in the game. Like boxing out consistently, not having 4 turnovers, getting your hands up on defense making for tougher shots by Sully.

He had a great game but I just thought he left some stuff out there on the court that could have gotten us the win. Stuff that elite players do.

DeMarcus Cousins admitted he was "distracted" tonight. Asked if it was about not being picked for All-Star game, he wouldn't say

Cousins took blame for the loss and for how Sullinger was able to get 16 rebounds.

just like I said, he knows he didn't play winning basketball tonight as well, respect the dude for that.

God, after the effort our role players had offensively tonight, you all still blame IT. Absolutely pathetic.

When the battle is lost, do you blame the soldiers or do you blame the general? IT proclaimed himself to be "the leader" and yet, ONCE AGAIN, he did very little leading and, in fact, looked pretty pissed off most of the night.

In defense of IT, who is he going to pass to though? An 18% Williams or a 22% JT? 27% bmac? The only consistant good scorers on this team are DMC and Gay. IT is hit or miss depending on the night but as ugly as his 39% shooting was tonight, I'll still rather him shoot then these other guys.

Without both DMC and Gay on the floor, we have below average players.

Who exactly is saying they lost because of IT? to me it would appear that most people in here are blaming the bench production and Malone for playing those awful units that got destroyed to start the 2nd and 4th

Not gonna name-drop, but several people in the last couple pages. This was a fairly average game from IT for me. Shot too much, but felt it was justified with how atrocious the role guys were tonight.

We flat out did not get a positive contribution from anyone but Cousins and IT tonight. On either end of the floor. And Cuz's production was nullified with Sully going off tonight. As was IT's with Bayless getting hot.

Anybody. Everybody. I reject that line of thinking. I mean, it would be one thing if he weren't moving the ball, but was also shooting 45+ percent. But he compounded a bad shooting night and his usual below average defense with being selfish and not moving the ball. There were at least half a dozen possessions where nobody touched the ball on offense except Thomas, and I think he only actually scored on one of them. That's annoying, even if it's in transition; in the halfcourt, it's un-goddamned-forgiveable.

Your rationale for not getting the other players involved reads to me like something from out of The Simpsons:

If you shoot 23 times you are responsible for a large portion of your teams success or failure.

23 mother effin times! 23.

Especially for a PG.

George Hill had 37pts tonight, only took 19 shots.

Even with Russel Westbrook out and Kevin Durant on a historic scoring binge lately, KD only took 22 shots tonight

Kyrie Irving who is being criticized for being extremely selfish for a PG this year, scored 23pts on 11 shots and had 12 assists tonight

John Wall took 19 shots tonight, Scored 32pts and 10 assists

Carmelo Anthony, 31pts on 21 shots today

And our little Pizza Guy, 24pts on 9/23 shooting. He shoots the ball at a rate as if he were one of the leagues top stars

Seriously, I'd give him three years. He is too much of an athlete to flush down the toilet prematurely.

I think we can wait at least 1. Let him turn 21 before his life is declared a failure maybe?

I can't figure out why Ben is not getting 35 minutes. I just don't get it. Go 0-20. I couldn't care less. We aren't playing for now. And if we are, I really have to question this entire organization. What is the ****ing point if we are not trying to develop our rookie? And give him a chance, please. He is unable to carry the scrubs he plays with, most of whom shouln't even be in the NBA. Why did he not start? It's inexcusable nonsense. Who really cares if we win or lose? He's not going to get better playing with the crap he was out there with tonight. Not that our PG knows what a pass is.

I'm really frustrated at Malone and this team showing so little progress. Our PG shows less and less sense as time goes on. I am ****ing tired of the excuses. He's a terrible PG. Bottom 5 among starters. I do not give a flying **** what his stats are. Sorry the mouskateers can't see it. It's beyond brutal. Bayless is better. Who our guy let shoot at will all night. I know he doesn't respect Bayless, but NBA players can hit wide open shots. Put you ****ing hands up. You're a midget to start with, don't play defense like you're a garbage can (which is where his game has been for at least a month now if not longer). Bayless 7-9, 4-5 3s. for 19 points. Our guyis NOT a star, and needs to cut the ****ing attitude. And so do his fans, cause they might be the worst of all cause they truly seem unable to find fault with such a clueless 3rd year player.

Landry? Jesus. Another terrible signing to add to the other terrible signings this franchise is in love with. So so terrible. Just keep the money, seriously.

Jimmer is the most consistent scorer with the least minutes. Shooting above 47% from the field and from 3. I just want to see one game with Jimmer starting and logging decent minutes with Gay and Cousins. He's going to figure it out and get an opportunity somewhere else.

And by starting him, who does that benefit? I think Jimmer has a place in the league, just probably not as a starter. I don't think it will happen, but depending on if he's even still on the team after the trade deadline and the composition of the team going forward I wouldn't mind him continuing his progression with the Kings. He has improved on his weaknesses.
