Ron Artest comes over for a visit

Ok, here we go again......

Ron Artest joins me in studio for the second year in a row tomorrow night around 9:15ish.

Some of you may recall the last time here was in last year, he stayed for over 90 minutes and covered pretty much everything.
Either way, its a pretty big deal for my small little show, as the other big boys usually get these sort of gifts.
I want to ask him questions from kings fans, so feel free to ask below, and I will do my best to ask them for you tomorrow. Actually, I will try to get him to take phone calls.

Its always a blast when ron-ron shows up....

Another obvious one (and one he probably won't answer), will he exercise his option or not? Also how does he feel about possibly being traded if he does choose to stay here in Sac. Last one, who would he like to see the Kings draft this year.

What specifically the Kings need to push the team over the hump and into the playoffs next year.

And if you're feeling saucy ... if he works into that plan.

Oh, and ask him his assessment of Theus' first year on the job and how it compared to the year under Muss.

I'd like to know if he plans to make more trips to Africa in the future. I think it's a really good thing for our NBA players to counter all the party stuff they're perceived as doing with good will missions that can actually make a difference in the lives of the people in the villages they visit.

Ask him what are his plans for the offseason? (more trips to Africa? community events? working on his game?) Also, are there any players that he's "taken under his wing" ala Ronnie Price.

If you can, ask him who his favorite coach was to play for and why. It would be interesting to hear his answer and could be a very round about way of finding out how he felt about Carlise's comments, Theus, Adelman being gone, etc. Good luck and thank you for sharing this with us.

One more fun question, if you can think of a good way to phrase this for Ron or can ask if he knows what these are before the interview. Get his take on the new basketball stats like Hollinger's PER and other sabermetrics that still tend to underrate D. I'll bet he has a funny answer for that.

If you can, Please ask him why he hasnt made a decision on whether or not to opt out and ask him if he plans on waiting all the way until the 30th of june.

Ask him who he thinks the Kings biggest rival is right now, if it's still the Lakers or whatever. Also if he can help Shelden Williams out a lot, because god knows the guy needs it.

How about .......

Who's his go to guy when we need a basket? Kevin or himself... or

Who's more clutch? Kevin or himself... LOL!

Ask him what aspects of his game can he work on to be more of a team player and if he realizes he has gotten the ball hog tag on some internet forums. Also ask him if he ever checks out Kingsfans if not tell him he should drop by because alot of people with knowledge come here and could be beneficial as to how the fans percieve him as a player and teamate.

I would like to ask him to summerize his own game and who he would liken his game to. How would he like the fans to perceive him, and where does he think the fans are wrong in their perception.

I would like to know what he is most excited about for the coming season; development of specific younger players? the draft? the development of Coach Theus? Being able to have a more successful season?

Also, is Ron planning on playing summer ball here in Sacramento?

Wow. GREAT questions. I would love to hear Ron's answer, Dave.

So three great questions:
1. what aspects of his game can he work on to be more of a team player
2. does he relaize he has gotten the "ball hog" tag on some internet forums
3. does he ever check the Kingsfan.com forums.... to see how fans perceive him (does he care?)

Perfect!! I will add one more:
4. When you get double and triple teamed down low, it doesn't seem you try outlet passes very much to wide open shooters. Can that change?

The WORST thing a player can do is pay any attention to what's posted on message boards. Just like the best actors don't read the tabloids, players - who some seem at times to forget are human - can get way too wrapped up in some of the dynamics of a silly message board.

Kingsfans.com is one of the more civilized but we still have our share of rabid posts that step pretty close to the line of being over the line, if that makes any sense.

While we are a very active board and might, in fact, be representative of the ever-shifting attitudes of the Kings faithful, players need to think about a lot of other things, IMHO, besides how the fans perceive them as players or teammates or anything else...

Just my two cents but if a player does read this board, and I know for a fact some have on occasion, I certainly hope they take everything they read here with a huge grain of salt and not let it dictate their game, their attitude, etc.

I have a suggestion for Ron:

Tell him I think we would win 15 more games this year if he just went out there and averaged 30+ points a game. Some of the defensive effort he puts in, (albeit very appreciated), seems unnecessary. Unless he has another stopper to run a guy into, like Salmons when they play together, some people are just gonna score on him and that's okay. The rest of the team should help a brotha out on "D".

edit: I'm being serious.

Please tell Ron the opposite of that as well.

I'm curious if Ron is comfotable going through the rebuilding process as one of the few vets on the team and how he feels about being a mentor to the younger players throughout the process.

I'd also love to hear Ron's thoughts on older stars jumping ships from their longtime teams to get with stronger teams for a chance at a championship. Obviously this doesn't really apply to Ron since he hasn't been with the Kings long, I'm just always curious what players in the league think about the practice, which seems to becoming more pevalent.

+1!!!!!!! It would really probably be better if Ron didn't read here, atleast right now. Dude would blow a gasket after reading all the ball hog posts and stuff.

BTW ask him Smills question, how the Kings can improve(whether that's just young players having internal improvement or like making moves and some trades, or some combo of both).

Carmichael Dave,

I'd like you to ask him how his daughter is doing and let him know that we wish him the best and hope things get better.

Hey Dave, I would like for you to ask this question:

How he can bring more fans to teh Kings arena and make the old Sacramento King fans come back!
