Kings notes: Abdur-Rahim may be ready to get back on the horse

Interior help may soon be on the way. To a degree.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim could engage in his first practice, albeit limited, since he had his jaw broken against Portland on Dec. 26.

"He's been running," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "I'm hoping he goes a little on Monday, to see how he feels. We won't know 'til (he) gets on the court and (we) see where he is. He's never been through this, and I haven't had anyone go through this. He's going to have to make the call. And when he does come back, it'll be some short minutes. He's lost weight and lost conditioning."

As long as he's careful, no reason he can't practice. Non-contact of course. Should be past the point when the mere jarring action of running should bother the fracture, although still not sure about him really straining himself, and especially would not want to see him take another blow on that jaw, fall on his face, or anything like that until its had a few more weeks to heal.

So, being that someone dropped him in my fantasy league, I shouldn't pick him up and stash him away yet? ;)

If You want to carry a dead weight for couple more weeks

i say rahim and wells should sit until after the all star break. you figure they've each got a few more weeks absence anyways, so the kings may as well give them both a little extra strength and conditioning time. there's no real sense of urgency in kingsland at the moment (even though there should be), so not much point in bringing them back too soon.
