What city are you talking about? You act like crime is exclusive to Sacramento. If you go to any city that built an arena, they still have safety issues. That's why it is called a city. City has crime arena or no arena. If anything, this projext will help that issue downtown. it is not the end all to be all, but it would help more than hinder.
Is this the best deal the city could have gotten? Probably not, although it compares pretty favorably with other recent arena deals in similar-sized cities. But to state it as this bad is just a ridiculous and totally distorted exaggeration.
And safety in a city will always depend more on people being good citizens and helping each other, than on ever increasing numbers of police officers.

The poll is a great idea, don't know how scientific it is being placed on a Kings fans website though. Then again scientific results may not be the purpose of the poll. Not excited about the measure at all, but I'm not a sac county resident so it doesn't really matter, if it passes in Nov. I will be far from heart-broken because the Kings will stay in town.
Well nice job hanging in there Green. I thought you made a legitimate argument for why you won't support this and I can respect that. Not my job to change your mind, I know people don’t see things the way I do nor do I expect that. How boring would that be?
I do support this measure but only because it relates to the Kings and them leaving. If this was for a team I didn't like then there is no question in my mind… I wouldn’t support it. So I understand the nay side. In the end it’s about what you feel is best for you and your community.

It's definitely NOT a scientific poll, but merely a straw poll of a cross-section of (presumably) Kings fans to see what they think SO FAR.
The results at this writing: 39 FOR 2 AGAINST.
Now, does this mean that Kings fans are "blind" to the facts, or does it mean thay they are more open to how this deal evolved and the terms that were settled upon?
If most of the voters in the straw poll have read much of the thread-work here on the issues, then I would say that they are far more informed about the tax/arena costs, benefits, and issues for all residents than are the typical Joe and Jill Q. Public who are polled by the media.
