Playing the vets too much - and other stuff (split from game thread)

Well, which is it? Cut him or send him to the D league? Make up your mind.

But we aren't. And they are. Wishing them away at this point doesn't work too well. And, news flash, Q isn't much of a point guard. Neither is KT. Playing either of them at point isn't going to make your team better....

d-league/cut him who cares. if they dont want him im sure they'll find a way to get rid of him. anyways like i said, i would rather see quincy than anthony johnson

if theus or the kings GM really believe that quincy doesnt have what it takes then send him to the d-league.
We can't send him to the D-league after this season. Guys with at least two seasons in the league can't be sent down by their teams to the D-league.

im posting comments. something we all the right to do without being made fun of. im not "spewing" random comments or the same "rhetoric" statements. ill state the facts and im not going to dumb it down for anyone.

Regarding your recent posts, would that even be possible?

Look, here's a simple question: did you enjoy the Kings 2nd half running the Sonics off the court? Personally, I did. When K-Mart and Garcia got it going, that was fun to watch. True, the game was meaningless, the opponent woeful, but I still liked it. Durant got served the K-Mart Special!

It's not important for Scrub #1 (Quincy) and Scrub #2 (Williams) to get P.T. if you do not envision them as part of your future! Sheldon Williams was not a player we wanted, we had to take him to unload Bibby. Geoff likes big man with skillz ( a la Vlade, B Miller, and Hawes), and Shelden has none.

And it's ludicrous to say Quincy Douby has NOT been given his chance. (1) Bibby was out. He could not take those minutes. (2) Beno was out. He could not take those minutes. (3) K-Mart was out. He could not take those minutes.

It sets bad precedent to give a guy court time when it's unearned. Quincy has been a BIG disappointment this year, and giving him charity minutes at this point is not going to change that fact.

i can't believe this post. lets see uhh.. anthony johnson over quincy douby? hello! showcase him and see what we have. i can't c how any player can get into a flow in 2 minutes of play. your legs don't even get warm in that time. you know, quincy is probably thinking OH FARK, i don't want to make a mistake or coach will yank my *** out of the game. how can he play right walking on egg shells. i don't know what reggie's problem is but its pissing me off towards the end of the season when we have nothing to play for. total bs trying to win meaningless games at the end of the season. we aren't a team jockeying for playoff position. while you think its not important for this player to get some time. its important for the kings future that he does see some court time. we didn't invest a draft pick on him to see him rot on the bench.

maybe people dont want to see him because he looks like Tupac.

but i agree with your post. quincy has had some pretty good games. and 4 points isnt bad for a 2nd year player that averages 9 minutes a game. he's shown uh, uh, what word do these people on here use. oh yeah, flashes. he's shown flashes that he can be a terrific scorer.

We generally score enough points with young guys like Kevin, Francisco, and Spencer playing. We need a 1, not an undersized shoot-first 2. And it's not Q's fault that he isn't what we need most right now - I'm not blaming him at all.

I like Q and hope he can find a niche here (or somewhere else if not here). But he's not going to displace Kevin, who plays his natural position. I don't get this obsession with him....

its not an obsession. i could care less if he wasnt getting playing time under mike bibby and doug christie. because they were that good. jj barea is a good example of an undersized player that can make things happen. it doesnt say much about the quality of his game, it just says more about the quality of their starters and roster. you must be fond of losing with the same guys every night. but im not like that.

Sorry, that comment wasn't directed at you in particular. I should have been more clear.

So playing behind MB or DC would be OK, but behind Beno and Martin and Francisco isn't? I propose that they are also all better players than QD as well.

And yes, I know that Johnson isn't in that league and I wouldn't mind a few more minutes for Q while Beno is out (and we are out of the PO). But playing time for QD right now just doesn't strike me as a pressing need. I'd rather see more time for Sheldon. I just don't see QD filling much of a need - his position is not hard to fill - while Sheldon could fill a larger need.

Would more PT for Q hurt? No. Am I upset about it? No.
