In Marty MacNeal's blog today (30th) he provides an interesting Petrie input:

"Kings president Geoff Petrie said the team doesn’t plan to add any more players in the short term.

“We’ve got to find a way of playing better together,” Petrie said Monday. “We’ve got to generate a more consistent offense
.”

Makes sense if, and that is a big if, the team shows some cohesion and improvement in working together pretty quickly. If they are competitive in the 4th quarter and lose, I can handle that but not the dysfunction they now collectively exhibit.

They are at this moment in a precarious position: either show some progressive improvement or becoming the "Clippers North". I've seen each player demo an intense level of defense for a couple of quarters, sometimes even several at one time, but now that has to be a collective effort and an on-floor team leader needs to emerge to direct the effort. Easier said than done. Time for the coaches to show their worth.

That's good to hear actually. A reactionary "heat of the moment" type of trade isn't what this team needs. They need to figure out how to play decent with what they have and then make the necessary moves to take the next step.

This should be our stance.

Either these young guys figure it out, or we change the team drastically.Thats it. No more stopgap guys like Udoka, Wright ( and Head when he stars playing poorly). These players have to figure it out themselves, or with a new coach.

I don't mind this. I'd rather wait it out til the Feb. deadline and maybe we can get a useful player that won't walk this summer. It's a wait and see game for now, let's just hope it's not something that kills the eye.

... which means he's on the phones trying to get something done. :D :D

Apparently our search for a guard upgrade has failed.

That is how I see it. There aren't any good players to be had for what the Kings were willing to trade. Maybe the pickings will be better closer to the trade deadline. The Kings need a solid outside shooter and preferably a pointguard. Hopefully the Kings will be able to get this team some veteran help.

I hope that is what they are looking for, but judging by what they've acquired over the off-season it is hard to say for sure.

One of my favorite NBA players for both his on court all star excellence and also carring himself as a very solid citizen, Danny Granger is in town tonight to take on the Kings. I won't be routing for his team but, man, would I love it if we could get him in a trade - however remote. I guess if we end up with anyone on Pacers current roster it would be a shooter like Mike Dunleavey but Granger is without a doubt one of the top 10-15 players in the league.

I can't blame you, but man, your really dreaming when it comes to Granger. He's the Kevin Durant of the Pacers. I'd love to have him as well, but he has to be the most untouchable player on the team.

Yep, that's why I said, "however remote," perhaps I should have said, "however incredibily remote." Plus, Granger is not at all disguntled like Melo who up until last season was said to be "untouchable." He may still be, but a lot of teams are interested if Denver wants to move him now or before Feb. trade deadline.

I guess that means that Petrie is looking to make a deal....;)

Just a matter of sticking it out. Hopefully Landry off the bench, Cisco back to health and a fit Tyreke spur us forward on offense whilst our solid D of the last 10 games continues

Knowing GP speak then you could assume just that... lol..
I'm not sad he cut Wright, maybe he didn't want to tempt PW into allowing him to play again when he knows we should be focusing on Greene and Casspi at the 3... Taking away the options he doesn't want to see in the rotation
