I suspect Vlade will make sure he knows whether DMC is resigning before he's a FA so we can get something meaningful in return via trade , albeit of lesser value. It would destroy this team if he walks for nothing. That's 3 years away anyway.
Anthony Bennet is on the block....![]()
Jordan was in the top 10 the whole year. What's what I meant. A guy from the top 10 falling all the way down the draft to late first or second round.
Well let's help him stay where he's supposed to stay and pick him at 6th!
Not all that different from Hassan Whiteside. I remember there being talk (on this board and elsewhere) of the Kings possibly taking him with the #5 pick though most mock drafts had him in the 10-15 range. To see him fall all the way to 33 was a surprise and I thought the Kings hit the jackpot with Cousins and Whiteside on draft night.
Had Hassan gotten things together a few years earlier I guess they really would have.
Kings interested in trading back and picking up a proven players according to Chris Mannix
This explains why we've been bringing in guys like Kaminsky, Dekker, RHJ, and etc.
It's hard enough building a team when you don't have a deep talent hole to get out of and you don't have the dagger of Cousins' leaving hanging over your head. I think if the Kings FO gets too wrapped up in this Cousins thing they are going to make some terrible decisions - they won't keep Cousins, and like you say, they will have a bunch of mediocre assets with which to rebuild. They may want to get complementary mediocre vets for Cousins to play with now, but if Cousins leaves they are just left with mediocrity, period.
What if this scenario played out with WCS falling cause of passion and health issues limiting him to 20mpg. Saw a poster day he got heart pains when he played over 25minuets.
Trade Collison/Ben/6/landry for Bledsoe
Than have WCS fall to 13

Actually might be an opportunity for us to solve our lack of assets problem if we could for instance trade back 4 spots, still get WCS, and get a useful hole patching vet thrown in as well as the price for the switch.
and i reference how they handled lebron's first rodeo in cleveland. they kept putting patchwork vets to stay competitive which he ended up leaving anyways cuz they had zero assets/flexibility trying to appease bron'. we don't have the luxury that cleveland has as its his hometown. i'm all for making the playoffs but not crushing the future also. the chess master of 50 steps ahead really f'd us over by taking on really stupid contracts (landry & mbah moute->dwill), handing out 2nd rounders like it was candy on halloween, destroying team morale & receiving nothing but a kick in the ass for assets (tyreke & IT).
With Nik Stauskas now on the trading block, what potential trades do you guys see with Nik involved?

Heres the article on Nik, most importantly it says we are discussing a Lawson deal.

Though the talks have yet to gain traction, Sacramento and Denver have discussed a deal involving point guard Ty Lawson, league sources say. Kings coach George Karl is desperate to find a starting point guard, and pressure is coming from owner Vivek Ranadive to make the playoffs this season.

Told Frank Kaminsky had a solid workout in Sacramento today. Kings intrigued by how Kaminsky would complement DeMarcus Cousins.
