That wraps it up for football Sunday. First off, the Redskins came up just short of beating the Colts, they had plenty of opportunities. McNabb had a shot at the end of the game to drive the Skins up the field for a touchdown or a field goal. Give credit to Francisco for that nice, one handed interception to seal the deal. I like what I see from Washington though, all their games have been close & competitive and that team looks like it can get into the playoffs.
Minnesota/Dallas game was entertaining for sure. Dallas stuffed the run all game long and they made Favre throw often, it worked in this game. Percy Harvin finally returned a touchdown this season which is always fun to watch, he is just a fast dude.
Houston was down 21-7 at home to the Chiefs, and right after KC scores, Houston answers back and make it a one touchdown game. From there, Houston goes and scores I believe 20 something points in the 4th quarter to come back from behind and win the game 35-31, a Schaub to Andre Johnson touchdown with 28 secs. left on the clock. Wow! What a game this was, what resilience from Houston to come back like that, we know they can score and boy did they do so. Only problem is, they have to outscore their opponents to win because obviously, they cannot stop anybody. It doesn't help that their pro-bowl linebacker Demeco Ryans is now out for the season, unfortunately. It's a shame, they have a nice running/passing game, if they had a decent defense to compliment that, just wow.
I give lots of credit to the Eagles for coming out and just spanking Atlanta from the get go, they go up 21-0 on them and never look back. Atlanta made an attempt to comeback but failed miserably. They didn't run the ball well at all either, which was surprising because they are ranked 3rd, I believe in rushing yards. Good job Philly defense, they stepped up BIG in this one. Kolb also had a very good game, 3 TD's, two of them to Desean Jackson.
Green Bay just looks all out of sync. They can't really score that much anymore, which is to be expected, their starting RB & TE are out for the year. Miami responded very well after that Monday Night beatdown against the Pats. Ya gotta love those OT games and Carpenter sealed Green Bay's fate with a 44 yard game winning field goal. Green Bay is in big trouble, they have WAY too many injuries, I don't know who is expected to come back and when, but keep an eye on them.
San Francisco finally won a game! They barely did so against Jason Campbell & no McFadden. A win is a win, none the less.
San Diego is looking pretty bad themselves. First losing to the Chiefs, then Seahawks, Raiders & now the Rams. I don't know what to say but it's very surprising to see them struggle to beat teams you normally expect them to beat. I can't imagine how that New England game is going to go next week.
Good win by the Patriots in OT to beat the Ravens. That was a good game as well. Baltimore's run game was pretty non-existant, Boldin wasn't too shabby as well as Deion Branch's return. New England is 4-1 and are looking quite impressive.
Those Jets just keep winning ball games, their defense hasn't been all that as you would expect, but they just put up points and make stops when they need to. Just another week at the office for those Jets, superbowl bound.
The Saints offense, atleast for this week, decided to show up and finally put up 30 points on those Buccanneers. I expected a much closer game, but so much for that.
The Giants are getting it together, they are sort of under the radar, but they won their last three games and they have been putting up some points. They can be scary down the stretch for opposing teams, if their run game gets going with Bradshaw/Jacobs and their pass rush comes along nicely, they will be something to mess with.
Big Bens return against Cleveland was a goodie. 3 TD's and one pick. That Pittsburgh defense did their job and they came out with a easy W. Them and the Jets are just dangerous and I hope I see a match up with those two teams in the near future.
I enjoyed this week of football, lots of close games & competitive. Which is what all those NFL fans want to see, one game remaining on the schedule and that's tomorrow night Titans & Jaguars. It doesn't scream to me that this will be a very competitive game, but that's why they play the game and you just never know.
