[Game] Nets @ Kings 3/31/12

Well, ive seen the momentum pick up this entire season when subbing Reke out of the game. Tyreke in the starting lineup seems to get us off to decent starts but as soon as the defense starts collapsing the paint because he has no other offensive tools he just disappears or starts making ridiculous plays trying to get our team back in the game. I don't question his effort and I don't hate him as a player... he just doesn't fit with the way we've built the team, and admittedly this team is built like crap so their is still some time to create something special that Evans can be apart of.

So I guess this momentum change means we're better without IT/MT/Cuz?

I don't have a proper explanation, thats why i'm so conflicted on how i feel about Reke. We've played Great when he wasn't around and when he was off the bench...we have spurts of greatness when he starts but tend to lose it as the game goes on...we sub him out and we go on runs... which is exactly what was happening this game until Cousins got in foul trouble and it got away from us.

Your sample size for this is what 3 games with him out and 2 games with him coming off the bench? If you think removing or reducing Evans role would have made this team better over the course of this season, well then you and me are watching different teams.

Were losing tonight because of defense, terrible bench play, Cousins 2nd half, and Smart's inability to manage a game. If you want to make Evans the punching bag that's your prerogative, just don't act like there's any logic behind it.

Nah...it doesn't work that way. Someone asked how the team did when he was in the game. Short-term the plus/minus isn't very meaningful.....but it is significant over a large set of games....and Fredette has the second worst plus/minus on the team... Salmons has the worst. Evans the 8th worst or 8th best however you fill or empty your glass.

Just to be totally clear, if you're complaining about how Tyreke is playing tonight you don't know what you're watching.

I know. He is leading the team in scoring on 8-13 shooting. But, oh, dear, they aren't all jump shots. Oh and on this defensively challenged team, he has 4 steals.

You guys are making me out to be some sort of Reke hater. I'm not. He has the ability to win games and he's showing it right now. But he also has the ability to lead us into oblivion. When Evans gets it going he is unstoppable which is why im not close to giving up on him. What I am giving up on is this team the way its constructed.

Actually, the average point guard has dominated Evans this season...at least satistically. Evans has a PER of 10.5 while playing point. His opponents average 14.4.

This is smarts usual thing. Stick with the guys that led the come back even though he should clearly sub his main guys back in. He has no idea how to manage rotations and momentum.

You do realize he usually matches up against the other team's best player, not just the PG, right?

A lot of that is s***ty lineups by Smart which don't defend well. Not a fan of +/- over a short period of time, let alone a single game. Far too many other things influencing it.

It's unreal. forget +/-, watch the game. MT and IT got destroyed in the 3rd. It wasn't subtle either btw.
