@Mr. S£im Citrus perfectly highlighted the core issue with our 2-guard rotation.

Fox isn’t a traditional point guard who thrives on distributing the ball.

With Monk on the floor, the offense flows much better—sometimes overly so—but it comes at the cost of defensive stability. Meanwhile, Keon’s defensive prowess and ability to force turnovers elevate our defense, yet offensively, teams like the Sixers tonight can exploit Domas’ hand-offs and force turnovers due to our lack of a natural distributor.

What we truly need is a player who can lighten Fox’s playmaking load without compromising on defense.

Hopefully, Devin Carter can be that player.
The combo would be fine starting if we had a big three and d wing starting in place of Derozan maybe we can find one but who knows

I hope Fox was good and pissed that the Sixers decided this was the game to rest Embid for the back2back...
next game vs Philly will be a back to back the game before is home vs LA off three days rest. Normal players would sit the kings game but Joel is known for picking to sit tough matches and play vs the lesser opponent so he’ll find a way to skip LA and play vs us

I looove stuff like this. The passion for the city from the coach is awesome and will hopefully rub off on the players. DC seems like an inspirational leader.
Yeah, stuff like this can either come off incredibly corny if its not truly authentic. And what's great about DC is we know he's ride or die for Sacramento. He truly loves this city.

I think he's been an excellent energizer so far for the team that's largely looked dead most of the year. Does that last? Eh, maybe. But I think I've mostly been pleased with the early returns on him so far.

RE: Doug Christie and the post-game hat.

I would bet that the camera guys asked Doug to wear a hat or apply make-up to that chrome dome to control reflection to minimize washing out the camera. Doug chose the hat. Just guessing.

Hardly a reason to fire him, though. :p
Yeah, thought the same but didn't want to post it and mellow the vibes. :p

This seems like cosmic payback for the nuggets beating us by playing perfect basketball to end the game a couple weeks ago.
De’Aaron dribbling the ball off his foot directly into Domas’s hands makes up for that random Aaron Gordon 3 on 5 stepback three where half of the Nuggets were sprawled out on the other end of the floor but the Kings somehow left every single Nugget uncovered any way

Don't get me started on that sequence. Kings have to crowd when they had numbers but intentionally chose to relax on the defensive end.

I watched the last 3:37 again. Although Monk was credited with the steal from Paul George as he charged to the basket with 26 seconds left, it looked like DeRozan actually dislodged the ball. George was double-teamed on the play.
I re-watched that sequence as it happened last night since I couldn’t really tell if it was Keon poking it from behind or DeRozan stripping it. Not sure how the rules work on crediting it but Monk was in the right spot to cut off PG’s drive and was the beneficiary of that.

which is to say - SWARMING TEAM DEFENSE. Great sequence for all the guys getting aggressive to protect a slender lead

Some thoughts about Doug Christie from this game:
  • Christie asked the team to get three stops in a row at the end. This focusses the mindset of the team to complete this mini mission. Rather than worrying about avoiding mistakes, this aligns the thought process to aggressively work towards a goal and provides clarity for the players. There is no place for doubt here.
  • Christie gave credit to Luke for the trapping strategy at the end given our beneficial foul situation. He was able to get the players to quickly adapt and get the desired results. It's a thing of beauty when coaches and players work in sync.
  • Christie took the team upstairs to view the beam and beautifully explained what it means to the Kings fans. He rallied them together around a totem and described the impact of their work. One thing you would notice in the DPOG photo is the presence of coaches front and center subtly signifying that the coaches and players are in this together. They equally share both the bouquets and brickbats.
