I was thinking the same thing.
Ever since J.R. Smith, Kenyon, and Wilson Chandler signed with no opt-outs? With Nene as a free agent? I wouldn't be surprised at all if Kroencke was one of the super-hard-line owners, completely willing to burn the season, 'cause things may get pretty ugly in Denver really quick.

I don't know. They have tons of cap space. All the tatooed guys are gone but they can bring in guys like Battier or Crawford to replace Chandler and Smith and still have a good amount left over to take care of Nene.

Nene/Birdman
Gallo/Faried
Battier/Harrington
Afflalo/JCrawford
Miller/Lawson

Yeah, they should still be able to field a decent to good team. Just depends on the route they want to take. Also, its possible that playing in china might get released from their teams. On the other hand, if they lost Nene to freeagency, then it could be a disastor.

It would be a disaster but they came close to signing him to an extension before the lockout and now, the only teams with cap space are us, the Pacers, the Clippers, Toronto and Houston can probably give him a base salary of around $8 million. With tax teams only being able to spend an MLE of $3 million, I don't see him taking a pay cut to go to Miami or the Lakers. They could probably brainwash him into doing it with the old MLE of $5.8 million but not this mini MLE deal.

Houston would seem like a legit threat. Team up with a fellow South American on the front line to go with KMart and Lowry in the backcourt and you have a good team but I see Denver giving him a legit contract.

As for the guys in China, I just never thought the tattooed up types fit well in Denver. Birdman is the only one remaining and he's a fan favorite. Guys like Battier are more their style.

Quick question, don't want to sound like an idiot here but, is their going to be a new schedule released soon?
I would guess they'll release a new schedule around the same time that training camps start. Certainly not until the new CBA is ratified. The biggest question for me is when will the teams be able to open their doors and talk to freeagents. I would guess around Dec 4th or 5th. You need some communication time before freeagency starts, and I'm sure the teams would like to get their players in for a look see before training camp.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what they said, or if they said anything about it. That's a good point as well, it's a shame for the undrafted rookies who won't get much look for training camps.

I haven't heard a date yet, but it was said that they'll allow teams to begin to talk to free agents prior to December 9th. I think most teams would like to have verbal handshakes in place prior to the 9th so that they can bring in the players right away.

Yep, were on the same boat. I'm sure most of the teams will have a sense of urgency about them. Not much time for everyone to get on the same page.

Plus, so far there's been no mention of any exhibition games. Thats where you get a chance to see what your rookies can do. There may be no exhibition games, or if there is, there can't be more than 2 or 3 at best. Some quick decisions will need to be made.

Either he's just trying to be zany now or he has genuinely lost his marbles and just doesn't care anymore, it must be one or the other.

O. M. G. What a strange, strange dude. I mean, we knew that already, but he just keeps reinforcing that opinion......

They should have reached an agreement during the lockout to never let "Metta World Peace" speak into a microphone ever again
What? No! Why would you ever want to take that away from us? Now that he's on a different team, I say: Ramble ahead good sir! Make me laugh, make your team's fans cry, especially as long as you're with the Lakers!

I can deal with it as long as he's with the Lakers I guess! But someday soon I foresee men in white suits shooting him in the neck with a tranquillizer gun
