Most mock drafts are showing Kings drafting Rubio

I just did a brief survey of some mock drafts available online, and of the 6 I reviewed, 4 of 6 had the Kings drafting Rubio at #4 (I used the 6 mocks that had been recently updated).
Are you guys findings the same thing?
Interesting. Seems the consensus is changing from a month ago.

Memphis will most likely trade the pick if yall were to get Rubio yall would have to trade up

My guts says that is exactly what will happen. Due to the fact that Rubio is resisting Memphis though I don't think they can ask for too much. Nothing crazy like #4 and Thompson for Rubio. Just won't happen. It'll be #4 plus something ok for #2. Something ok would be our #23 or #31 or swapping Thomas for Jaric saving Memphis several million dollars.

Ok, There are a bunch of mocks, links and articles floating around here lately.. so forgive me if this has been posted:

ESPN Mock Draft 6.0

Sacramento
Tyreke Evans

Position: SG
Height: 6-5
Weight: 220
Age: 19
School: Memphis
Analysis: At this point, I think it's safe to say the Kings have narrowed it down to Flynn, Rubio and Evans.

Sources say the camp is pretty split among the three. Flynn brings vocal leadership, athleticism and an NBA-ready body to the mix. Rubio is physically less ready for the NBA, but he's a purer point guard who understands the game better than anyone in the draft. Evans isn't a true point, but the Kings love his strength, toughness and size -- especially after his second workout.

Evans was in Sacramento on Sunday and had his way with Flynn and Stephen Curry. He was relentless taking the ball to the basket. As one Kings scout remarked, "It was a man beating up boys."

So, has Evans risen to the top of the Kings' list? Maybe.

Sources in Sacramento say the Kings have reservations about Rubio, and his rocky visit there last week didn't help the situation. They feel like Flynn could be a leader and the guy who could come in from day one and contribute, but they are worried about his size.

Evans has been described as sort of a compromise candidate. He gives the team size and some point guard skills. As for Jrue Holiday? He was in the mix for a while, but sources say he's fallen off the top three on their board.

More..

Here's a spreadsheet that will makes your eyes and brain bleary.

And another.

You know how you know you are in a messed up draft? When you are picking #4 and various mock drafts (and there are a TON of them out there -- I think they even have grandma's in there), anyway the various mock drafts have us picking no less than 12 different people at our spot. 12. And that's with nobody saying we'd get Griffin there, so you are pretty much talking about almost the entire remaining lottery.

As it gets closer to the draft the only players who excite me are Rubio and Thabeet...anyone else would be a downer, guys like Evans or Curry I'm not interested in...we don't need two SG's on the court we need an actual PG so if either of those two are gone I'd probably go with Flynn.

Thabeet??? NO WAY! EVEN if he's available with the 4th I'm still not picking him. Doesn't have the skill to transcend his game to the NBA. He only has rebounding and shotblocking ability and it's not even off the charts stats. For me it all boils down to EVANS,RUBIO,CURRY AND FLYNN in that order....any of those 4 players would be awesome for the KINGS.

If this is propaganda, it's smart propaganda. Notice how they downplay Holiday and laud Evans. That makes the piece more believable...

SI Mock Draft 4

3 PG Stephen Curry Davidson Jr. 6-3 181
The Thunder could go with shooting guard James Harden, Ricky Rubio, Tyreke Evans or even Jrue Holiday here. But the latest hunch is that they'll complement Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook with a shooter and playmaker. As Oklahoma City turns into a playoff team, Curry could become his generation's Manu Ginobili off the bench.

4 PG Ricky Rubio DKV Joventut (Spain) -- 6-4 180
Torn between Tyreke Evans and Rubio, they'll go with the Spaniard to provide the franchise with a fast-break identity. A worthy gamble for the Kings.

Ok, Curry at 3?? Seriously? This is the first I've heard of this.

Do you think there is anyway GP passes on Rubio and Evans for Flynn? This would be my nightmare draft.

Thabeet?

Have to agree with you here except I would still take Rubio 1st.

I wouldn't pick Thabeet here either, but it would be nice to have some rebounds and blocks once in a while.

I dunno, might cause heart attacks among Kings fans not used to seeing that stuff. ;)

I have feeling that DeRozan will be a superstar kind of player if the team gives him a chance. I don't know why, but I think DeRozan will be my favorite player in this year's draft.
