Mike Miller

He's hardly playing for The Heat since coming back from injury. James Jones seems to have taken his spot. This may make Miller somewhat expendable to them.

Miller’s a versatile swing-man, career 40% three point shooter, a pretty good passer and a decent rebounder (better rebounder than Landry). The Kings could really use a guy like that.

In Miami’s case, they could probably use a center that’s a defensive anchor like Dalembert more than Miller at this point (especially in the playoffs). Dalembert wouldn’t have to score much on the Heat and that’s really the type of situation a player like him needs to be in. Moving Miller would give them flexibility to sign Dalembert in FA, too.

Throw Landry or Greene into the deal if needed.

From Yahoo's notes on Miller, December 29: "Coach Erik Spoelstra said it may take up to three weeks to work Miller back into the rotation, the Associated Press reports."

I seriously doubt Miller is available, he's just taking time to come back from injury and up to speed with the team. They didn't sign him for no reason.

Obviously, but they could probably use a good defensive center at this point more than Miller. They have other shooters in House and Jones, plus Wade and James can shoot good but they don't have anyone at center that can really match up with Howard, Shaq, or Perkins in the playoffs.

I doubt they will give up on Miller that quickly. He was supposed to be the "4th guy" there and he is still returning from injury and will find his place in the rotation soon enough. In any case, at least for me, helping the Heat is worse than helping the Lakers, so I have to say no.

Yeah screw The Heat. We should have beat them in 2002. Oh wait...that wasn't the Heat. Seriously though, rejecting a trade that helps your team just because it also helps a team you hate isn't very wise.

Let me start by saying, if you can make the deal, I'm on board.. I've been a fan of Mike Millers for a long time. I think he's very underrated as a player. Besides being one of the best shooters in the league, he's a very good passer and ballhandler. He can play both SG and SF, and is a decent rebounder for his position. He's a smart savy player that just lets the game come to him. However, I really doubt that the Heat will trade him. Come playoff time their going to need him. He's also insurance if either LeBron or Wade go down for a while.

There's no doubt that they could use a center, but for the most part, all they need is someone to take up space. I'm sure they can aquire someone without giving up that much talent.

By the way, another player I like, and have mentioned signing as a freeagent is Jamal Crawford. I think everyone saw why I like him, last night. He can play D, shoot the ball and he's a very good passer and ballhandler. The only downside is that he's 30 years old. But I would bet your house that he has at least 4 to 5 good years left in him.

On The Kings, that may be an upside. They have enough young guys and another one probably coming in June. A few solid vets around 30 could really help this team. If you think about it, most good teams are generally comprised of a pretty even mix of older guys and young guys, or almost all older guys. Rarely do you see a good team where the top 5 players on the roster are all really young. Off hand, The Thunder are the only one I can think of.

We are in 100% agreement...A couple of very good, older, players at the right positions would make a huge difference on this team. My gut tellls me that Crawford wouldn't be chafing at the bit to sign with us, but who knows. It took Crawford a few years to figure out who he was as a player, but he's been solid for the last 5 or 6 years. I think the Hawks would love to keep him, but they're really strapped financially right now. And who knows the outcome of the new CBA.

So, we should not discuss theoretical trades if they aren't very likely to happen? Opps, there goes about 99% of the content of this board.

I don't ever tell anyone what to or what not to discuss; but there are good players who are being shopped right now. Wouldn't a theoretical trades involving players that we actually have a bit of chance of getting be much more interesting?
