Wee bit premature. Untill March Madness is in full swing it is hard to ake a great guess about the potential impact the top college palyers will have (and even then it's still a crap shoot). More importatnly if you really want to have a serious and meaningfull take on the likely candidates it would be practical to wait untill we had a better idea of where the Kings pick may fall. Now if we just want to engage in idle speculation I think Batman would kick Superman's *** in Jeporday any day of the week!

He's a threat to score - but not consistantly. He can and is shut down.
I know everyone here has crowned him the offensive genius --- but he's just not. He's a good player that can score some in the post. Not enough to be your only post threat, that's for sure.

Again, I know he's the best offensive force since Wilt Chamberlain and MJ were cloned into Milt Jorderlain ... but he's shooting a whopping 37% for us and barfing up shots.

Well, that wouldn't even be fair to do.
It wasn't necessarily directed at you. There is a lot of sentiment that Artest could carry this team offensively and I'm just bucking at it.
Except that he barfs them up in the post too.

Chandler is a younger, taller version of Dennis Rodman, IMO. Could he fit into our system? I guess that all depends on what direction our 'system' takes in the near future.Kings113 said:

Doubling isn't always about being "worried" about a player. It also has a lot to do with knowing their response to pressure. Artest cannot see over a double and has a hard time passing out of it. So, doubling him is easy and often leads to a dumb play on his part.
Plus, it's also VERY easy to double a post player when there isn't another post threat ... which there isn't.
If you look back, Reef was getting doubled pretty hard too earlier in the year.
It's not that Artest CAN'T score or isn't good, but he's not a guy you can ride in the post. Artest thrived in Indy because they spread the floor well and they had an alternative post player.
Why is it that every time I see the Spurs play I'm impressed by Naz Mohammed? Yes, I know, he plays with Duncan and Duncan commands a lot of attention but if we were to obtain him (he's a FA this year) he'd be playing next to Brad whose game is simialar to Duncans in that he plays away from the basket, face up and not back to. I know SA will want to keep him because he beat Rasho out for PT but they have a lot of guys to pay to keep happy there and were good even with Rasho in the lineup so we could pry him away if we wished to expend the resources. What do guys think of him?

Duncan doesnt play away from the basket... he is a dominate post player, who can take it outside. He can do everything but he plays inside. I have never been to impressed with him... He is a pure C, when we need a defensive PF, u couldnt play Naz with BRad. THat is no athlteisicm on the court

We really have to decide what we are going to do going forward in the offseason with the KT/SAR situation at PF, but for right now KT is doing a good job in there as is SAR coming off the bench. We have such a small bench as it is...it's nice to see production from Cisco and SAR off the bench. Hopefully KMart can further contribute like I know he can when he starts at Arco.

I like Sam from what I've seen of him when the Kings played the 76ers. While this is a very valuable position (PF/C).
He's a nice young prospect that I think will be getting better and better. Does he play PF/C? That's a guy we really need to try and find, not so much a big slow 7'+ guy, but 1 around 6' 9" that is very athletic and can play both PF/C. While you don't need to be the biggest guy to get the rebounds (KT), we need someone with quick feet and a big body that makes his presence know and will make opponents think twice about getting to our basket.
I'm really liked what I saw from Anderson Varejao in the Kings/Cavs game. At 6' 10" he is a very athletic guy that could play PF/C.

He's making around $900K this year and next, then he's a free agent. How much would it take to get him. While I like to think of the draft, who knows what pick we will get and I'd like to go after a somewhat known player that is emerging and maybe on the wrong team to fully mature. That's why Darko could have been good for us if we could have gotten him fairly cheaply.
