The Game Thread Dude
What better way to wash the taste of a poor showing against the Grizzlies with than to engage the erstwhile Timberwolves in a basketball "game". Thus began my write up for the game. And then the Pups almost succeeded in beating the Lakers.

I'm incredibly busy right now so this post will unfortunately have to be very short.

JHA-Beno "Which way to the hoop?" Udrih and anyone not named Reke, Cisco, or Sammy D.

Not to be a downer, but for the title of the official game thread I would show minimal respect to the opposing team and not use their derogatory nickname. I'm sure no one here would enjoy seeing the Kings referred to as the "Queens" on other teams' message boards in the title of their game thread.

I don't mind the individual posters using whatever nicknames they want, but in the title of the game thread it seems a bit too disrespectful to me. Game thread titles have kind of a more "official" quality to me. But I guess it's just my opinion.

Honest;y that was a bit of a Freudian slip. Operating on caffene pills and two hours of sleep for the week right now.

I think it's funny.

Why don't we wait until AFTER a large number of people object to using a cute, funny (derogatory) name for an upcoming opponent before we begin to take offense (for nonexistent TWolf fans) and ask someone to change their style, eh?

(I'm baffled at how many times people go out of their way to take perceived offense on behalf of other people nowadays before there's even been a whiff of protest by the affected group)

lol, odd as it may be i wouldnt really like other boards to call us the queens either.. reminds me too much of shaq and the lakers..

I tend to be a bit impetuous, lol. Really though, they better beat the freaking Wolves. They have 5 of the next 6 at home, mostly against beatable teams. If they can't use this home stand to get a few games over 500 then that's pretty discouraging because the schedule gets a lot harder after that.

Yeah I'm definitely hoping that we'll beat them, and it would be nice to not fall back by a billion points and then have to work our way back into the game for once.
So... not so worried about if we lose, but if we lose due to giving up a freaking 15 point lead in the 1st quarter then I'm going to have to raise a small vote of no confidence in Westphal's ability to communicate to the players / coach.
 
Respect for an opponent is usually one of the last things you'll find when you visit another message board. That being said, I think this game should be a good barometer for progress. Love will probably get more PT for sure, unless he gets Donte'd by the coach.
 
We most definently should be able to win this game, whether it's by 5 points or less or by ten plus. I'm only worried about Kevin Love, he can shoot the perimeter J and rebound the heck out of the ball, especially since Carl has a deficiency in the "rebounding" category. Their in a back to back and they made a lot of shots yesterday against a LA team that wasn't really trying until it needed to. None the less, let's get back on a winning track here and take care of business, were not much better but we still are better than Minnesota.
 
they are also down to one PG and are having tryouts for the position according to an article posted today by JGar.

Really, this is one we need to get. And should. I just hope our shooting is decent. If so, we should be OK.
 
They say Kevin Love played defense en route to his 23 point - 24 rebound - 5 assist performance, against Pau Gasol. Now imagine what he'll do against Carl Landry.
 
Respect your opponents. Realize then can beat you like they almost did last time. The Kings have the capacity to make this a good competitive game and win. But not the way they played their last several. I'll be there and rooting for one of their good games. After being in the arena to see them play approx. 500 times in the last 25 years I will just enjoy the game win or lose. I hope to enjoy this one more than most.
 
Atleast we have one game where JT guarding the 3 can work, Beasley is the definition of a tweener and JT can keep up with him.

How does a team that drafted two pointguards consecutively in the same draft while also signing Sessions (who is now in Cleveland) and then trade for Ridnour while simultaneously acquiring Sebastian Telfair run out of PGs?

Well, if they do run out they can always make Darko their PG. After all, he is the best passing big man Kahn has ever seen...

Darko is a god like hybrid of Chris Webber and Vlade Divacs, mixed in with some LeBron.

thats a lot of games, man! thanks for supporting our KINGS! i would be there as well but unfortunately i am not as financially fortunate.
 
Big game here. I would like to see us keep the game close or take a big lead. No more gettin behind 20 points and coming back. This is the worst team in the league and we are at home. Play like it.
