[Game] Kings vs. Wolves, 11/10/10 7PM

I still can't believe the lack of progress in Tyreke's game. Last season, I pointed out that a pull-up jumper would make him deadly. When defenses stack up players to collapse, he has to realize that he can't just go as deep as he can to the basket and then kick out or lay it up. It would be so much easier if he could make his move, then create space and fire a pull-up.

I disagree. His jumpers has gotten much better. He may not have a 'pullup' but saying there is a lack of progress is a bit much. Like you said, last season he either kicked it out or went for the layup, this year he is finding the bigs inside off the dribble for easy looks at the hoop, something he didnt do alot of last season. He is a much better decision maker .. he isnt a finished product, but I have seen progression in his game .. Far more than I have seen from most of the kings youngins.

My thoughts. Our turnovers are still bad, but its not like we're an experienced team or anything. Reke is starting to get the superstar treatment in terms of how teams defend against him, his game is going to have to adapt. Still, Minny discovered the secret of containing Tyreke : the triple team :p

Like what I'm seeing from Dally, Beno, Cisco, Jackson, Cuz, and JT. Minny has made Reke a nonfactor, Omri, and Landry are playing badly as well. Greene....Definately didnt earn any more PT in his lil stint.
Thompson at small forward is FOOLISH, and Donte Greene just isn't very good. Cousins was on his way to having a GREAT game, but wasn't on the floor for waaay to long. Our coach just doesn't watch the same games that we do... im freaking convinced at this point.

JT at the 3 is pretty silly, but I think he produced well in his limited minutes, even being out of position. He's a very active player in the paint. If he could just finish he'd be an allstar by now, but alas...

I dont know why Cuz was taken out that long, maybe conditioning reasons? He's seemed pretty energetic this game, and it has translated into good play on the court (with a few rookie mistakes thrown in for good measure), other games he's been visably tired. If thats the case I dont mind his minutes being limited. Dally has been great as always too. I hope we resign the guy.

I'm seeing some progress this game. We still suck. But progress is progress. And Minny actually played the Lakers really tight last night too. They might be starting to put it together on their end.

What progression when he plays the exact same way? You say his jumper has improved. Ok, well what are you basing this on? He doesn't take them with any more frequency, and he's just as inconsistent at hitting them. So, how has he improved? He hasn't added to his game with pull-ups or floaters or any other midrange moves, he just tries to break down his defender and either kick out or finish...which is exactly what he did all season long last year. Only now, he's got some better finishers. I don't see improvement, I see the exact same play style with the same moves, which is exactly what defenses are hoping for. As long as Tyreke doesn't add some diversity to his game, he's going to be limiting himself and his impact on the game.

Laugh out loud at Tyreke pulling a Ben Wallace at the FT line. It is official, we are the worst defensive team in the league, hands down!

Omri get a tech on a play where he was fouled before the shot. Then he makes the hoop and runs up court complaining. It's one thing to be a poor or mediocre team it's another to be immature.

Good news: 24 points in the paint

Bad News: Teams know they can load the paint to slow Tyreke and our Bigs offense with no one on the perimeter to really make them pay for it

Seems Beno has discovered Minny is barely if at all guarding him. Meanwhile Reke has at least 2 often 3 Wolves breathing down his neck every time he touches the ball.

Well, statistically his shooting numbers ARE better. I dont care about frequency, he is at his best when he is taking it to the hoop. How much do u want him to change his style or moves?? He has good moves and his style is great. He gets fouled or a layup most of the time or finds an open man. He CAN get better at everything, but I dont want him to change who he is. His passing is also much improved, and I already said I think he is making better decisions this year over last. Maybe you dont agree .. thats fine.
