Kings vs Wizards postgame talk.

Great game guys. Again, the new guys played pretty decent and Cat came up big after starting kind of cold.

GO KINGS!

These are the kind of games we've been accustomed to losing.

Back to back.

East coast.

Decent team.

I don't care if it's by 2 or 22. Kings WINNNN!!!!

REBOUNDS WHEN THEY COUNT!!!

That is all that matters. So far so good regarding rebounding.. I am sure once we get some practices under the belt, and Peja back this team will be GREAT! Good job guys!

We would have never won this game if we couldn't rebound.

I agree with you, Gary.

The rebounding proved to be HUGE in this game. Especially with Washington's big bodies, the new Kings did a great job of getting in there and boxing out. I can't tell you how good it is to see a low post game again with the Kings in Big Nasty. Imagine when they start doubling him up and leaving Peja open on the key! Deadly.

I know a lot of you were lamenting the loss of Webber and all, but I know its going to turn out okay. I was one of the few who thought this trade was a good idea from the beginning, and now I hope more of you can see the same.

Kings led in every stat category: scoring, FG%, FT%, FTM, rebounding!!!!, steals, assists, blocks and fewer TOs. Now when was the last time we did that? much less on the road eh? :) Now if only Bibby's arm doesn't fall off we should do OK vs. Charlotte on Tuesday.

Hustle from new guys was impressive. Even Skinner in 10 min got 6 pts and 4 rebs.

Things are looking up already.

Anyone know what was going on w/Mobley at the end of the game? He had to be restrained and it looked like he was getting into it w/some fans?

I definitely agree....

I was for the trade as well. We need a guy down low to pass out to a open jumpshooter rather than a guy at the elbow that is on the outside to begin with. More of an "inside-out" game is what allowed Peja to score so much last year. That is what Vlade provided us that Webber could not (when Webber played at the elbow which I thought was too far out). I am hoping that we will use Williamson in that way.

I also like the "BIG/SMALL" lineup where Adleman splits time Between Songalia and Thomas. That seems to be working well.

When Peja is back I would like to see Williamson split his backup time between PF, and SF with Thomas splitting time between the two spots as well. Thinking maybe move Peja to PF, and Thomas start at SF?

It was great!! And we won when Gilbert Arenas tied his career high?! Plus back 2 back and on the road, guys haven't practice...I'll take the WIN!! :)

Great game by Bibby. Good clutch shots by Evans and Mobley!

GOO KINGS!!!!!!

At first...I didn't trust ya. Saw the stats and you are right! ;) I love that stat. But the BEST STAT is the WIN!!!

Hopefully Peja will play on Tuesday (Grant said most likely). God, I can't wait to see him play with the new guys. I bet he's going to torch Charlotte, and prove why we needed to get rid of Webber!

Unfortunately we were bet on the boards.

GOO KINGS!!!!!!

I don't know if that was a coincidence. Bibby tends to have offensive duels with other point guards. It could be that Arenas thrived with the "defense" Mike was playing.

I'm pretty sure that he will do better now that Webb is gone, but he'll need a few games to get back in Rhythm. It would be amazing if he came back from being out, 2 weeks plus is it, and was on fire.

1) we actually got beat on the boards again, although only by 1. Mentioned this before, Webb and Barnes were perhaps our two best boarders -- new guys can board, but they are no better than what we traded away. The guys we moved aren't why we were a bad rebounding team, just as the guys who took their place aren't why we still aren't going to dominate the glass. The problems lie elsewhere.

2) we allowed 108pts again -- 8 over our season average. Getting good effort from the new guys, but they are restricted a bit by physical limitations. If their hustle can bleed over to the regulars, I think we can improve significantly. But we still are going to have size/quickness issues at nearly every position (undersized OG/PF, underquick PG/SF/C).

3) Thomas is not a post player (too small) but can drive. Post players are Corliss against SFs (not PFs) and Skinner who showed a surprising touch there. Problem is, once Peja gets back, where do the minutes come from? Assume Skinner gets the backup center minutes -- that's 10-12 behind Brad. And Corliss? Ony 10-12 at backup SF. We can play him at PF, but he's a terrible rebounder there and really can't post PFs because of height/no jumping. So we get two guys who can play a little in the post, but because they're behind two of our stars, we're talking 10-12 minutes a piece, and both at similar points in the game? Seems like Corliss in particular needs some more time, but I have a hard time seeing where he's going to get it.
