[Game] Kings vs. Pacers 1/18/12 Game Thread

Also, Reke will NEVER be a "star" in the league if he doesn't learn how to play the game properly. I don't care how much talent he has or how high his ceiling is.

What game are you watching? He was great that half at setting guys up, passing ahead, good d, offensive boards... do you just never want him to attack the rim? Is that it? Problem was nobody was hitting the layups he set them up for.

That was a selfish possession by Thornton. If you are a basketball player, a contested shot is something you don't want, so why clear everyone out so you can shoot it? Sometimes I wish I could just slap some sense into some of these players

He gets bailed out by the coaches/fans for having a big shot once in awhile - or a big game once in awhile (although rare).

Same case with him as with Reke though - lots of potential, but it will likely never be realized if he doesn't change his attitude and style of play.

Until they make thos echanges, they will always be the highest scorers on the worst teams.
I see Reke almost bending over backwards to play team ball, and is setting others up countless times. Don't know where your attitude comment came from regarding Reke.

Same thing has been happening to the other guards all year. And that was just one quarter... put that up against the rest of the season. Get real.

Also, he usually only sticks with his "distribute the ball" stint for as long as the team is doing well... once things begin to look bad, Reke transforms back into "Super Reke, chucker of balls." Doing that will NOT get the Kings back into games. See: Our record.

Can someone explain the logic of shooting a contested 25 foot shot at the end of the half over running a play? Why would you do that? This team frustrates me so ****ing much! This is highschool stuff were talking about. If any other team was spanking their opponent this hard on the boards they would blowing them out! Instead were losing! Fml!

We had so many positives that 1st half though. The Ball movement was better than it's been all season and both starting bigs almost have a double-double already.

Reke played a great game as a distribgutor. our bigs had energy if not always competence (And Cousins' big center phobia). But that stuff in the end still euals loss if our players jsut continue to simply refuse to put the ball in the hoop. Its really gone beyoind ridiculous. We are shooting less than 40% as a team on the year. As a team! You don't know about the rooks of course, but suffice it to say that not a single one of our players is a sub-40% shooter in his career. None of them. And now they are COLLECTIVELY shooting less than 40%? I mean what the hell.

When is Smart going to figure out that Salmons is costing us games? He can't be that oblivious to how badly he performs on both ends of the court

Have I mentioned lately how very much I like IT? He's reminding me more and more of our original energizer bunny.

I would officially not complain if we traded Thornton. Too selfish, and gets an opportunity to prove it over and over and over...
